Children's Mental Health
Here at Kids Mental Health, we are advocates of children's mental health. We offer informational articles and guides, but we do not offer any direct support to families. Please contact your local GP. We visualize a world where the mental health stigma does not exist and that everyone feels safe to speak about mental illnesses and have access to treatment and support.

Kids Mental Health aims to help parents and professionals learn and understand mental illness and what they can do to protect themselves and their children. We provide information through educational articles and guides. We also have a community for families and friends. Lastly, we provide everyone with a safe space to speak up and ask questions about mental health.

It's by telling your stories that we can break the stigma of mental illness. Through these stories, we can help others know that they are not alone, that there are others who are going through the same struggles, and that mental illness is not the end of everything. Be their example that people can have happy and healthy lives despite living with a mental illness.
A mental health assessment for your child will be done according to the warning signs seen and how they affect you and your child's daily activities. To assess your child's mental health, he or she needs to be brought to a specialist for evaluation. The chosen doctor will then work with you and your child to assess their mental health to see if they have the signs and symptoms that indicate a mental illness.
Like adults, kids can also develop the same mental illnesses, though they sometimes manifest these conditions differently. Because of that, it's good to look out for the following warning signs in children. These signs can be changes in what they're feeling, how they're acting, or how they behave as a whole.
If someone needs emergency assistance or is in danger, get help and call your local suicide hotline immediately. Suicide warning signs differ from person to person, and not everyone will show these signs. While there is no singular reason for suicide, there are environmental and health issues that can create a feeling of hopelessness that can lead to such.
As we have discussed in the past, balancing school and your child's mental health can be challenging. Even when your child is at a young age, he or she may struggle with certain aspects of the school process. There may be fears relating to day-to-day classroom environments; moving to a new school, class, or grade level can cause anxiety, and in some cases, traditional school environments don't work out.
