Buon Gusto Restaurant
At Buon Gusto in Guelph, we have a passion for keeping things simple. We use high-quality, often locally sourced ingredients for our pizza, pasta, and antipasti. Our full bar features local craft beers, an extensive and reasonably priced old world wine selection, as well as top-shelf spirits & classic cocktails.

Join us for lunch or dinner. Our woodburning pizza oven, made in Reggello, Tuscany, is 'il cuore' (the heart) of Buon Gusto. We import tipo 00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes from Italy, to make our pizzas in the traditional Neapolitan thin-crust style, hearth-baking them at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for just 90 seconds.
Services
Buon Gusto is located in the heart of downtown Guelph, in St. George's Square. Though our address is 69 Wyndham St, we can also be considered as being on Douglas St, right across from the Scotiabank. If you are coming from out of town, Downtown Guelph can be accessed most directly via the Brock Road exit.

It was our first time here and we loved it. The vibes, the patio, the service… everything was great. The food was very authentic and that was the best part along with their service. Usually the patio is a far better place to enjoy it but the inside the restaurant is equally as great. Could sit at either locations. 10/10 Would go again

First experience to Buon Gusto , after being referred by our son..
Were very impressed on all fronts. Food was well prepped and of high quality. Pizza was large and could have fed 2 or 3 people.
Linguine was cooked very well with lots of seafood. Only complaint was the Calamari in linguine still had membrane on it and had to be pulled off to make edible.
Special mention goes to Gillian , our awesome server , who made the experience extra special. 😀
Highly recommend for your next night out !

Food is so tasty, we came back two nights in a row. Best pizza ever. Pasta was delicious. House Red wine was better than expected. We shared a bottle of De Loach which paired well if you like Pinot Noir. I had the LIMONATA AL GUSTO cocktail and it was so fresh, they blend real strawberries. Great experience all around, all staff was genuine and kind. Dana and Morgan were super. The owner Bernie was caring and made guests feel at home. We'll be returning next time we're in Guelph!

My favorite restaurant in Guelph! Best wood fired oven in the city. Service is top notch. The people who work there are amazing and friendly. They have an amazing patio to boot.

We were seated past our reservation time because they were really busy since patios were only allowed to open a couple days beforehand. The service itself was great. Breads were delicious - a little bit too much rosemary but neglectable when you dipped them in the mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered two appetizers, Tina's meatballs, which was so so good and the tomato sauce with it was sweet but not too tangy and Burrata Toscana. For entree, Lingunine Pescatore , which was a little bit too fishy for my liking and Spaghetti Carbonara and shared Crema Bruciata Al Limone - absolutely

Came for a late lunch around 2 pm on Velentine's Day. We ordered and got our pizzas in under 10 minutes. Both pizzas came out piping hot, not burnt and were accompanied by red pepper flakes and red pepper sauce. The red pepper sauce tastes quite spicy and a bit acidic. The buon gusto doesn't really need any more heat as there are sausage and hot peppers on it already. The margherita tasted great but it would have been great to see s bit more basil on there.

Service was great. Their bathroom towels are the some of the toughest paper towels I have ever seen. If you live in Guelph, you

I looked around online before I found this gem of a restaurant, which had lots of great reviews. The pictures looked tempting, so "why not"? I am so glad that we did.
The menu was full of some great sounding foods and we found it hard to choose.
It was a Friday night, so we made a reservation and it turned out to be a good idea. The restaurant at 5:45 was almost full. Anyway, the bread was warm and wonderful and came with olive oil and balsamic vinegar combo to dip. I love this start. We each ordered an appetizer (Bruschetta and Buratta) and a pizza. Wow! Everything was great

What an amazing restaurant. For the last few days we have been in Guelph we have eaten here every day. The food is delicious. The pastas are amazing. The calamari is some of the best I have ever had. The meatballs with polenta are so good. Pizzas are done to perfection. The food was perfect even when we did takeout. The service was above and beyond. This is a world class restaurant in the middle of Guelph. Compliments to the owner ,compliments to the chef and staff. Incredible.

Amazing restaurant! Food and service are spectacular! The best burrata ever! Also the pork belly was fantastic! We were celebrating a baptism and some friends took a cake. The restaurant put in the fridge for us, and cut the slices for each person. Very careful treatment!

My favourite wood burning pizza place in Guelph. Be sure to make a reservation, it's usually always busy. My favourite app is the Burrata, it's the perfect consistency of cheese. A couple of pizzas I like are the Miele Drogato and the Buon Gusto. I will definitely be back again, I've introduced other friends to it and they love it as well. Service is also really great.

This is a great restaurant in down town Guelph. Fun atmosphere and great food. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer which was enough to split between 2-4 people. Also the entrees were a great size. Just a tad loud in there, but to be expected.

I had lunch today at Buon Gusto, which is in downtown Guelph.

I love love love pizza and ordered a D'Abuzzo pizza. Their pizzas are made in a wood-burning oven, hearth-baking them at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 seconds. It was a good pizza. I liked the crust, which is the traditional Neapolitan thin-crust style ... it was soft and chewy. The cheese was creamy. The salami was salty. There was a lot of tomato ... good thing I like tomatoes! I'd get it again.

Louisa was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

This is my third time coming to this restaurant!!! Food and the atmosphere is amazing!!!

Our table enjoyed a margherita pizza, Linguine Romanita and Spaghetti Carbonaro!!!

linguine Romanita was mouth watering!!!!
The Carbonaro the sauce felt super dense so left me feeling heavy after. But such a pleasureable experience !!!

Delicious Italian food, great atmosphere and wait staff. One of the better restaurants Guelph has to offer.

The guy at the table next to us farted quite bad but that wasn't the restaurants fault LOL.

A consistently good lunch or dinner option. Hard to get a spot for dinner unless you've booked at least a week in advance, which is testament to how popular they are.

Food options don't switch up very often, but the daily specials keep it interesting. The pizzas are delicious and well prepared, and the wood oven cooking makes a difference! Pastas are equally good and quite generous. The appetizer menu offers a number of wonderful options -- try the meatballs w/ polenta, calamari arrabiatta, and the Buratta if you want to have your tastebuds and mind blown. It'd be nice to see new

First I want to say that the atmosphere is great. Definitely what you want from a good Italian restaurant. The food also exceeded my expectations. Great carbonara and wood oven pizza! I was also very impressed by their house wine. Often it is cheap and evidently so, however there house wine was actually good. I was very very happy with my experience here overall!

During a last minute decision and a pull for hunger, my eyes set their target upon Buon Gusto. I looked over this restaurant a couple of times and I've been wishing to go with someone. To be honest, it definitely was a much better choice than to go for to the Works Burger. Italian over elk burgers were calling my name.
My boyfriend and I sat at the patio. We didn't have a reservation but we didn't mind since we would have rather eaten outside however, if you don't want to eat out on the patio or at the bar, it's best to reserve when you have the chance. Otherwise, you could

Three star! Well I could have given them higher star however, they forgot to put in my order of appetizer. They weren't even busy at that time. But I guess they just totally forgot that we ordered pork belly for appetizer. Well appetizer where serve before the entrees and the entrees got to our table before the pork belly. And so in the middle of the dinner we called our servers attention to remind her that we are still waiting for one appetizer. And she apologizes that she have not put it in and said that it will be right out shortly. I was not in the mood to complain about the situation

I had to try this place out with all the hype and good reviews about it!
Everyone in my group that night, eight people, had a good time here. My friend from Italy also approved that the food here is quite authentic and delicious.

My favorite was the appetizer which was composed of fresh mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, fresh arugula and figs, and bacon jam with toast. It was a good size to share before the main.
I got meatballs and polenta as my "main" (it is under appetizers). It seemed small at first, but oh boy it filled me up! Polenta was nice and creamy, and meatballs were packed
