Broken LCD screens or screens with vertical lines are not fixable. If you get white screen with no image from the LCD screen, but when you connect the laptop with an external monitor via VGA port on the laptop and get normal image, this problem usually come from the circuit board on the LCD panel which is also not repairable.

I have an old MacBook that stopped booting due to some serious hardware issues due to its age. I called Jeff the manager there and he was not shy about trying to help diagnose it over the phone. He was very courteous, not patronizing, and clearly understands the underpinnings of complicated personal electronics. Had a self inflicted injury with my laptop. Sent an email to them which was responded to promptly. I was there at opening and was the first person in line. In fact, the technician was on time.
As my issue wasn't difficult for him, he was able to fix it right away, as I had a replacement part ready. Within 15 minutes, I was out the door with my repaired laptop.
Prices were very reasonable. Technician even took the tome to discuss pros and cons of different laptops and of different levels of laptop through my manufacturer of choice.

I'm just copying the review I left on Google here: Jeff knows his job really well and he's super nice. The power power jack on my Asus ultrabook broke, and I got a quote from a few places including Asus. But thenI decided to fix it myself by following a Youtube video. Big mistake! To make the laptop small and light, the manufacturer has crammed the parts so close to each other that a tiny mistake can damage your laptop.
I de-assembled the laptop breaking a tiny pice and then tried to desolder the old power jack but failed. Desperate, I took my laptop to Jeff expecting that he would charge
