Paint By Munzy

Munzy is our favourite local artist. Over the past couple holidays, I have bought my wife three original paintings, and about a dozen virtual prints for our new Art Frame TV. The art is incredibly distinct, unique, and beautiful. And it is always fun to interact with Laura and her brother. I hope to continue to, for many years!

Every experience with Paint by Munzy is inspiring and is a sense of being apart of a bigger community with those of the great diversively inclusive Canadian spirit. It is always bright and colour-full, and warm and personal!
Whether giving the original art or merchandise as a gift to myself or others, or dropping in the gallery, or seeing a calendar in another business, or attending the November party, my heart, soul & mind seem lifted & engaged!!

I have purchased several prints and one original Munzy painting for my home and office and get frequent comments on how much colour they add to my space. I definitely recommend this gallery.

I first discovered Munzy's art a few years ago when I found one of his calendars on a neighbour's lawn on Churchill St. I loved all the artwork (and was very confused as to why anyone would have discarded it) and treasured the calendar despite it having been rained on and being a bit tattered. I didn't realize they were complimentary until a friend mentioned that he had visited the gallery and got a few of them himself! Pleased to have purchased my first print of gorgeous artwork by Jonathan Munz. His sister, Laura, runs the gallery and is, simply put, one of the loveliest, warmest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Thrilled with my purchase, and looking forward to filling my home with more! :)

Finally got into the gallery for my first visit! Hours are now regular following limited road construction hours. Bought a collection of beautiful art cards for the holidays and birthdays. Laura was super welcoming and a delight to chat with. Looking forward to my next visit.

Jonathan Munz's work portrays landscapes that are reminiscent of the Group of Seven, but with his own unique Contemporary or Impressionist lens applied. So many stunning pieces; the "Killarney Rock Trees" piece is my personal favourite. Definitely to worth popping by the Uptown Waterloo Gallery for a print, a greeting card, or to view the exceptional display of original works. The brother-sister run gallery "Paint by Munzy" is one of the many treasures of the community.

I have admired Jon's work for many years now. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to acquire a few of his pieces for ourselves and friends. Jon offers a truly humble "Canadian" perspective to his landscapes and other works. Jon's work carries me to my most treasured place, reflecting upon the beauty of the Canadian landscape and nature at large. His art eases both my heart and mind. My experience with Laura Munz at the gallery has always been exceptional. She is professional and also very warm and welcoming. Laura is passionate about Jon's work and it is easy to see how proud she is of him. Jon's work is always admired in my home by friends and family and I recommend that they check out the gallery and online store for a variety of prints - I love his European series and his birch trees. Knowing Jon personally, I know how much love goes into his work. This is a great little shop with beautiful art in the accessible uptown Waterloo.

Absolutely love Johnathan's artwork. His talent shines through in every work he does regardless of the style of the piece. He can paint the most beautiful forest scene, capturing the essence of the moment, so you feel you are there. Or there are the stylized paintings, including the New York City Collection that so capture the mood of the moment. Some are breathtakingly beautiful and some are painfully moody.
