With the warm ambience and the gorgeous view of downtown Port Dover, we strive to provide comfort from our service and food. We take pride in serving French and Italian cuisines with the local ingredients.

We are Local Report

Schofield's Bistro was established in 2011, and our name is based on the original name of the building - "Scofields Block" we were located at on Main Street. Since 2014, we have been home at 243 Main located steps away from the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. Chef and Owner Michael Haywood, is a proud lifelong resident and member of the culinary community for over 30 years.

I rated you a two for a reason. Instead of removing my review you should have reached out to try and rectify the horrible dinner we had. I'll be sure to make it a verbal review whenever I am asked. You can't delete reviews everywhere. Own your mistakes. It's called customer service.

We have always truly enjoyed our experiences at Schofields in the past, but on Sunday we had a terrible time. We arrived as it opened for breakfast and were greeted ( no Good Morning) by a very loud, unfriendly lady who was rude and not at all helpful. She seemed angered by our questions and ended up walking away when I asked if my eggs could be fried. Since there was hardly anything on the menu I could safely eat ( dairy allergy) we left. Sooooo sad!

Tried Schoefields for breakfast recently. Server was in terrible mood and treated us with a complete lack of respect. Did not even order any food. Needless to say, we will not return.
Interesting customer service in light of the challenges restaurants have faced due to Covid 19.

First time trying Schofields and they didn't disappoint. The meal was fantastic and the service friendly and fast. The portion size was wonderful as well. We left feeling stuffed for sure.

Had a Ramble Road something or other. Was quite good with mild hoppy notes at the end. Didn't eat but the food looked good. Only reason for the 4 star was their price was wrong for the beer. Charged $8 but menu said $6 so check your bills.

Took my 83 year old mother on her first trip out in 1.5 years to a restaurant and food and service were excellent.

Just had a little Sunday brunch of Eggs Benny...WOW! I've been missing you guys through all the lockdowns but you never fail to please. What can I say. Thank you for a fantastic brunch and a taste of what I've been missing. Absolutely fantastic!

My parents and I have made Schofields one of our regular go-to restaurants for breakfast, and tried it out this evening for dinner.
Magnificent!
My dad and I had prime rib with Yorkshire puddings for our main courses, and my mom had a lamb shank.
Beautifully cooked, and nicely presented.
HIGHLY recommend, will definitely be back for dinner!

I live in London right now and my parents picked up takeout (burgers and Caesar salads) for my roommate and I a few weeks ago. The portions were extremely generous in size and everything was perfectly cooked. The Caesar salads were equally as good; the dressing had really great flavor. Since we live over an hour away, we obviously had to reheat everything but it was still as good as eating in the restaurant. I don't think I've ever had such high quality takeout food before and I'd definitely recommend for anybody still not comfortable staying to eat at restaurants!
