Pikolo Espresso Bar is the vision of Marie-Eve Laroche, who on discovering the coffee culture of Australia saw an opportunity to enrich the Montreal landscape. Working with Canadian roasters Monogram, 49th Parallel and Rabbit Hole, the drinks at Pikolo are crafted with the goal always to showcase the intrinsic character of individual coffees and served with casual familiarity.
Paired with locally homemade pastries from Hof Kelsten and Cafe Myriade, the cafe offers everything needed for a quick stop on the way to work or a catch-up with an old friend.

I give a 5 by comparison. After many years of coffee at this place I finally feel like it’s the right moment to give a 5 stars for their good coffee but also for their consistency.
Now is the time because I feel like I’ve visited enough coffee shops in Montreal, and I can finally say that IMO I still think Pikolo has the deepest most flavourful tasteful…coffee. And I’m guessing for every worthy cup there’s always a good barista behind.
Some shops get their latte good, but not their cappuccino. Some offer piccolo but no cortado. Without naming any, some don’t even have any coffee taste

We went here to have a sip of coffee. The owner was forcing us to have the QR code for vaccination passport even though we showed him a proof of vaccination with the ID card. He said we need to have a QR code by the law starting today which was not true and start making non-sense argument with us and made us very uncomfortable. It almost seems to be refused to sit at the table as customers. We could over heard the staffs conversation still talking about what happened between us and “mandatory QR code”. I thought it was very unprofessional talking about the particular customers in front of others

This is a small and cosy coffee shop locate on all of the most iconic avenues of Montreal. They provide a high quality coffee brewed over creative season aware drinks that can for sure heat up your heart in the winter, and cool down your vibes during the over humid summer of Quebec 's greatest city.

Came on a Friday morning for some coffee with a friend. Seating is a bit limited but luckily we were able to find a spot. The barista helped us with our order and even gave us recommendations. Everything was prepared really quickly and I'd say that pricing is fair.
Overall, the drinks were good, the ambiance was good, and service was great. I also liked that there were dairy-free options available. Definitely would recommend trying this place out!

This place is adorable! I went there on a Monday afternoon at 4:50 PM (10 min before close time).
They have a decent seating area if you want to study/work. They are also very well located and parking around isn’t impossible to find (park further on Parc). The prices are average for an independent coffeeshop (around 4.50$ a latte)
The employee that served me was patient, helped me choose my drink and told me a little bit about the coffeeshop’s history, etc. I ordered two lattes, one with soy milk and one normal. Both were exquisite! Can’t wait until COVID is over to go study there :) I

Pikolo was really wonderful, while it’s small, it’s also cozy and warm (perfect for winter time!). They have a good selection of drinks and pastries (scones!!). I liked sitting by the window as I could easily watch people as they walked by, and the natural sunlight comes in so perfectly. I got a moka a recommendation from the barista and I must say I really loved it!
PS: there is no WiFi at this spot
Thank you, looking forward to making my way back.

One of the VERY best coffees in Montreal! Their taste is distinctly unique, strong and aromatic. The small space inside the cafe along with their bean's aroma creates an exotic and magical vibe. Nothing can beat the feeling of sipping their latte while staring at the snow outside. I was bit sad since it remained closed last 1-2 months because of the pandemic but I checked this morning and it seems they are finally open again for limited hours. I can't wait to grab my favorite latte this week :)

According to Yelp and what I've read on the internet, Pikolo is considered by many, including cafe owners, to be one of the best cafes in Montreal. This place was close to our Airbnb so we stopped by here to grab some coffee on our way to an early lunch at Schwartz's. Pikolo is located in the Milton Park neighborhood of Montreal (a.k.a. the McGill Ghetto), very close to McGill University, downtown Montreal, and the borough of Ville-Marie.
Two things stuck out about this place to me:
1. There's no Wi-Fi, at least, not during our visit. A couple had just placed their orders and settled

One of the best coffee shops in the downtown-Mcgill ghetto area. Hidden away on Parc across provigo, this cafe is cute and has its own ambiance. You can sit in, or takeout. I personally like to grab my coffee and walk around the downtown area. Or grab the 80 bus to the plateau/mile-end, coffee in hand. Great boost to start the day.
Usual cafe menu, but the quality is so much better than coffee shop chains or other commercial places. Worth a stop!

As an Australian looking for coffee, it can be a little difficult!! This place does its justice through a pikolo latte if you're looking for a similar taste and strength.
Perhaps try a smaller size latte (they still have 2 shots so it's essentially a 3/4 full)- however, I drink soy so the added sweetness in the milks here doesn't give me the same taste and strength. I tried a soy latte first but wasn't satisfied so then chose the pikolo.
I liked that their place is cosy and very about their coffee! The muffin was really delicious and bonus points for providing vegan options

Fabulous espresso (I got both the cortado and the house latte -- which as explained is tiny but delicious -- and both were wonderful) and a great little selection of pastries.
Came across them while searching for a Saturday morning pick-me-up and we returned multiple times during our stay in Montreal -- even with staying at a hotel that served free, great espresso drinks itself.
Service was lovely during all of our visits, and the shop was a quaint and cozy escape from the chilly winter temps.
I'll definitely be back!

Good coffee and—even better—amazing staff. I forgot my purse there Thanksgiving Sunday (I can count on my hand how many times I've done something that careless), only realizing it when I got home in a state of total panic. But they were incredible, picking up the phone 35 minutes after closing, reassuring me they had it in one piece. Even though it was a holiday and even though they'd been closed for close to an hour by the time I got there out of breath, they waited for me!! My coffee angels 😇

Visiting from the U.S. and wanted a quality coffee. Yelp pointed me in the right direction and I ordered a Pikolo Latte (made with almond milk, per my request).
The flavor was intense as the cup is smaller than a regular latte. I arrived close to closing, so no chance to order a pastry. Might have to go back for one of those!
Edit: a guy came in after me looking for a drip brew and since it was so close to the end of the night, he got it for free! Nice customer service.

I already knew their coffee was excellent, as it the service and the friendliness of the staff. However yesterday I went for the hot chocolate, and THAT was amazing as well! Usually hot chocolates around leave… a dusty aftertaste, but this one was just perfect, not even too sugary. Highly recommend the place, for coffee and everything else!
