Services
Before coming in it is always good to call if you feel you have time to do so. This will allow us to ask important questions that will help us be better prepared for your arrival. After you arrive, it is important that our staff gathers as much information as possible about the nature of your pet's emergency.
The ability to administer whole blood or the components of blood such as packed red blood cells and plasma via transfusions is important for the treatment of a range of medical conditions, such as certain types of poisonings, clotting disorders, and trauma with severe blood loss.
Without this lifesaving procedure animals in severe distress due to these conditions are not able to properly bring oxygen to their internal organs or remove toxins from their bodies. The result is that the body very quickly begins to shutdown and die. As a 24 hour emergency vet hospital, AECFV is committed to maintaining a supply of whole blood and its various components for use in emergency situations.

The key to treating any type of animal emergency or critical care situation - as well as minimizing the cost of care - is the ability to make a quick, accurate diagnosis. We understand that surgery is never an easy experience for you and your pet. This is all the more true when it is required to treat an emergency illness or injury. Often, the decision to proceed must be made quickly and in trying circumstances.
For this reason, AECFV strives to provide our clients with a clear understanding of why a particular procedure is necessary, what the procedure entails, proper post-operative care, and convey any other information you may need in order to feel comfortable that you are making the right choice for your pet.Our highly trained veterinarians and experienced veterinary technicians have the skills to ensure the best outcome for your pet.

This review is long over due as I was here over a year ago. However, I have not stopped thinking about how incredibly grateful I am for the staff and the service at this vet. My dog Gracie ended up having a Pyometra infection which they diagnosed right away. She was in very bad shape and had to stay over night to get IV fluids, antibiotics and a blood transfusion. They took such good care of Gracie, they called me through the night to update me and were very transparent that she might not make it. They recommended I book her into another vet the next day to get the emergency surgery that was required

Fantastic service during a terrifying time. My youngest rat was in respiratory distress late at night, and we found this hospital after a frantic google search. They took my ratty in immediately and had her on oxygen quickly. The staff and vet kept me up to date and showed compassion for our pet and my husband and I. The fee was extremely reasonable considering the time of night, the quick service, and nature of care provided.

I came in with my Husky puppy kekashi who had some roundworm issues. Not only did they do a full examination for the stomach they also, notified me he had a heart murmur and the precautions I can take to help him. Love the service and the proactiveness of the staff. Would come here everytime I have a pet emergency. Only wish they also did general practitioner because over all great experience. They really put my mind at ease in the middle of the night at 3 am.

I have had to (unfortunately) visit here several times for after hours emergencies for my cats across several years. I only have good things to say about the vets and staff who have helped me and my family in emergency and end of life care for our pets. It is great to know they are here and staffed 24/7 in case of emergency. Always kind, thorough, patient, and compassionate in the most stressful and difficult of times. Thank you!

Our dog was referred here with an intestinal obstruction after eating some rocks (I know, right?). Grade A care and a great surgical outcome with no wait considering the urgency of the situation. Our dog is doing great one week later and the techs are still providing phone advice because our regular vet clinic can’t quite figure out post-op care. ER care costs money..the overhead of a 24/7 clinic cannot be appreciated by everyone but this clinic went above and beyond the call of duty for our dog. Thanks guys!

Not enough good things to say about this place! They helped us with an emergency with our kitten who had gotten something stuck in his mouth and we couldn't get it out ourselves. They were amazing with everything from our phone call on our way there to the end with take home instructions. They took our scariest night with our kitties and assured us that everything was going to be just fine. Exceptional animal hospital with exceptional staff.

We had several wonderful experiences with the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley this year. Sadly today, we brought our almost 12 year old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in for an assessment as she was really struggling to walk. Dr. Lavely was so kind, understanding and open about options for us and our dog Kaia. She, and all of the staff, helped us make an extremely difficult day a little easier to bear. Thank you for your compassion and expertise.

I can't say enough about the amazing staff and vets. Two nights ago we brought our cat in as she appeared to have had a stroke.
From start to coming home Smudge was well taken care of.
The communication over the phone was excellent (covid), Dr Noble is incredible. We felt she went above and beyond explaining how to care for Smudge going forward.
They did give us a cost estimate after she was seen, which is important and unfortunately part of decisions that are made. 💯 it's going to be more than the usual vet appointment, but never did we feel it was about money.
Thank you front staff at

Hello, during that awful heat wave at the end of June I had to take our 3 year old female shepherd Reya to the Animal Emergency and it wasn't heat related at all but she wasn't eating or drinking and in the end it turns out she had somehow got a foreign body lodged in her lower jaw area and had an infected abscess on her throat. This was the reason she had no interest in eating or drinking.
She unfortunately had to wait to be treated right away as she was stable and the great people there were dealing with so many cases of heat exhaustion in pets during that weekend that it was understandable there

I recently brought my kitten Winston in for vomiting/diarrhea and lethargy. Due to COVID you are not permitted to enter with your pet and all communication is done over the phone, you hand your pet over outside and they call you with updates. The staff were very kind to me on the phone and took all of my information/his medical history. The vet who examined him gave me all of the options upfront and we decided on trying some home care rather than admission to the hospital that day. I was sent home with clear instructions and communication on how to monitor his progress.
