Boardwalk Animal Hospital is wonderful. Absolutely outstanding: so kind, caring and generous with time and information.
My one year old dog has had two small 'emergencies', a broken nail and an ear infection and both times Boardwalk has stepped so well. Dr. Woodward is a dog whisperer for sure, actually, also a people whisperer. She is funny and sweet, I feel like a good friend when I visit. She takes gentle care of my dog who is a sensitive soul who lets us know if he is in any way uncomfortable.

I have been going to Dr Young for the past 20 years and wouldn't dream of taking my pets to another vet. He has always been honest with his opinions and never pushed any. treatments or medications on us unless he strongly suggests it, and in those cases, it's always been the right call. The staff are great and little to no wait times when it comes to our appointments. They've been the one who's congratulated us on new puppies, helped us with medications, injuries or illnesses and eventually helped us though the difficulties of putting our seniors down. I can't be more thankful to this place. My 13 y/o cat was extremely sick and my usual veterinarian said the only option is the 24 hrs clinic. I was there before, and I have ptsd from that experience (and 8k poorer). We needed to try to save my little man and this place took us on short notice.
The veterinarian was very kind and worked within our means, was very knowledgeable and was able to provide a plan to bring him back from his death bed. She was a bit overwhelming with the medical vocabulary but quickly dumbed it down for me when asked.
2 weeks later and my cat (Frankie) is now living another

This vet clinic is the worst I brought my puppy there for a wellness check after I first got her they charged me $400 to tell me she was fine and she wasn't fine, she had worms all it took was me describing her symptoms to a friend over the phone and they told me she had worms. I took her to another vet to get rid of them. I've heard some horror stories about this place.

I brought my beloved 7 year old Belgian Shepherd in as kept rubbing one side of her head. It was obviously really bothering her. She’d rub and push the side of her head into anything...me, the floor, a wall, my other dog. Without hesitation Dr. James Young (owner) told it was allergies. Over the next couple months, I brought her in again a few times as it seemed Chloe’s frustration with her head was growing. Again, it was dismissed with ‘allergies’. Then I started noticing a bumb on the side of her head which was actually her skull! When

We took our dog to Dr. Young at this clinic before we moved from the area. We went to another clinic at Davisville and Mount Pleasant. There was a lot of turnover at the clinic and our dog was not getting the care we were used to. So we returned to Boardwalk. We are very happy with the TLC and care Dr. Young and the staff give our dog - they are compassionate and caring and we trust them completely. They don’t over prescribe and strike the right balance. We really appreciate them going above and beyond!

I am shocked to read these reviews. Honestly, flabbergasted. I had a horrible experience with this place and the veterinarian. When my brother's 4 month old puppy was hit by a car he was brought here. It was traumatic, my brother was covered in the puppy's blood and he and his girlfriend were in hysterics. The vet walked in the room, took one look at the dog and said 'He's dead.' and turned to leave, barely acknowledging their presence. When my brother protested he said 'I've been doing this for twenty years, that dog is dead.' And then walked out of the

We had never experienced such wonderful care and compassion until we began going to The Boardwalk Animal Hospital. Throughout the years, our two dogs were treated incredibly well. The staff, professional, kind and just lovely to deal with. Sadly, our Charlie had many issues, paralyzed for a period of time, two knee surgeries and cushings to name a few of his problems. Dr. James Young and all the staff treated him with such care and love you would have thought Charlie was their dog. Sadly we just said our final goodbye to Charlie and everyone at the hospital has helped us through this time

Been going to this vet for just a year or two now. Their friendliness and transparency always makes what could be a frustrating situation much easier. They handle your pets with care (unlike pieces of meat like other vets I have been to) and outline all the options and the costs involved.
Dr. Young will even make notes on a whiteboard to make it easier to illustrate what the situation is and the different ways to address it and take the time to make sure you understand.
