SONGER architecture inc (SAinc) was formed by our principal architect Elizabeth Songer in 2011. We have established ourselves as a focused architecture and design firm with a particular passion for designing cultural and community spaces. As a small, local business based in Southern Alberta, our team of creative professionals takes the time to get to know our clients.
Our designs are enriched by these client-based collaborations, and ultimately we are able to create innovative spaces that support the client's needs and budget while reflecting their identity. Our team is involved with every stage of project design from inception to completion-ensuring continuity and accountability on every project we undertake.

As a small, focused architecture and interior design studio, SONGER architecture inc is passionate about creating spaces that draw people together. Our design team has established a strong reputation for designing cultural and community spaces in Southern Alberta. We believe that architecture can act as a social catalyst, and can create more liveable and vibrant communities.
How do we develop an idea into a built space? Every design project at SONGER architecture inc starts with consultation. Whether the intended building will serve as an office space for two, or will be a community hub to serve multiple users and purposes, we start by gathering information. How will the space be used and who will use it?
The Sterndale Bennett Theatre was constructed adjacent to the Genevieve Yates Memorial Theatre in 1990. It was originally designed to provide much-needed rehearsal space for the Yates but with increasing demand for performing venues, the "Sterndale" was quickly repurposed to a studio theatre instead.
SONGER architecture inc was chosen by the City of Lethbridge to lead the design of the new Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Programming & Community Centre. This year-round facility will enhance both Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and Henderson Lake visitor experiences by providing visitors with new and improved cultural, historical, and hands-on programming.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District (BBBS) required increased space for their administrative offices. Housed in a provincially registered historic building, any potential renovations need to be sensitive to the historic significance and integrity of this structure. SONGER architecture inc worked closely with BBBS staff to determine how they could move forward to accommodate their current and anticipated spatial needs.

We have really enjoyed working with and getting to know the team at Songer Architecture. Elizabeth's stamina and enthusiasm shines thorough every meeting , every sketch, and final drawings. They are a great example to us and clearly set the standard in our community.
Their office is a like a well oiled machine and you really see the benefits of their close working relationships. Thank you so much.
