Dancap Family Investment Office is a Single Family Office based out of Toronto, Canada, that manages the investment portfolio for Aubrey Dan. Established in the year 2000, Dancap has invested in opportunities across several different managers, strategies, sectors, regions and vintages, with the intention of growing the portfolio with a long-term point of view that is intergenerational.
Our Investment Team has over 70 years of collective experience in the investment industry investing in opportunities across Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt, Hedge Funds, and Public Equities. Each year, our Team reviews over 500 deals and only invests in a select few that meet our investment criteria.
As a Single Family Office, our flexible investment mandate allows us to invest in any opportunity that meets our minimum net return criteria, while our nimble investment team allows us to act quickly. We're a passive minority investor, where our investments are managed by third-party managers. On certain direct investments, we've taken on a more active role as an investor, where we'll either have a seat on the Board or be an Observer.
Our Investment Portfolio spans across multiple asset strategies, geographies, and currencies. Through OurCrowd's investment platform, Dancap invested in Innovalve, a biomedical startup that is developing a Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement solution. Today, the only means of replacing a diseased mitral valve is by highly-invasive open-heart surgery.
Dancap allocates 35% to 45% of its overall portfolio to Private Equity investments through third party funds, co-investments, and direct investments. The Dancap Family Investment Office has a long history of investing in private equity funds, and our objective is to establish long-term relationships with third party managers across multiple funds.
