Our Story: Paul Reda started his Blacksmith apprenticeship in Germany in 1935, where he learned from traditional European craftsmen. Before he emmigrated to Canada in 1954 to continue working in his trade throughout southern Ontario, he had apprenticed many young men. By 1967 he had formed his own company (Paul Reda Iron Work) in Kitchener where his son Norbert grew-up and apprenticed under him.
Today Norbert continues his father's tradition of delivering the full services of a Master Tradesman in various metals. His skill in hand forging is almost a lost art form in North America. Each day Norbert delivers his father's tradition of European quality with his employees, in a manner of unmatched expertise in custom fabrication and restoration of ironwork.

We wanted traditional wrought iron railings to accent the front steps and small porch at the front of our almost 100 year old home. There were many cheaper, generic options available from railing supply companies but we felt that they would not suit the age or character of the house. The gentlemen from Reda Iron Work worked with

If you wished to be patronized and quite frankly, insulted about your ability to grasp the complexities of their business and pricing structures, this is the place for you! Do not walk into this business looking for partnership and interested engagement in designing the items that you need. In particular, Paul, their 'design guy' was dismissive at best. I have an MBA and am an experienced furniture maker, but he spoke to me like a blond-headed little fool that could not possibly grasp what he was saying.

We hired Paul Reda Ironworks to install railings on our front porch. Paul came to our home to measure in order to provide us with a quote. He was friendly and professional as he explained the work involved from the making of the rails to the installation process and the hardware used to secure the posts.
He took the time to thoroughly answer all our questions and provided us with different solutions to meet our needs. The installation was timely and efficient. Paul and Norbert were a pleasure to deal with. The front porch was spotless when the work was completed. The railings are solid and beautifully
