Beck Veterinary Clinic is a small, family-oriented veterinary practice located on the South Side of Edmonton. Dr. Nick Beck is the primary veterinarian, and is a second generation vet. His Mom, Dr. Susan Beck, opened the clinic in 1976. The Beck Vet clinic has many long-term clients and we are currently welcoming new patients.

Our friend suggested Beck Veterinary Clinic based on how well they treated her dog's chronic condition. I'm glad she did! We brought our newly adopted cat for his first visit and I was pleasantly surprised by how warm and friendly the front staff were from the get go (we chatted about the benefits of orange cats during my first call). They were also very accommodating when I realized I had left the EHS health records at home, even though it was entirely my fault for being a scatterbrain. I am so impressed with this vet. Our first experience with them was great. Friendly and helpful. Dr. Beck came out to talk to us multiple times and even called us the next day to see if our dog was feeling better.
But what has made an even greater impression with them is that when we called to make an appmt for our dog's ear infection, they had no availability and the earliest was about 9 days later. We were quite worried because untreated ear infection could get worse and everything we read said to get to a vet and no home remedies. We know vets are busy lately due to increase number of pet owner

It was a difficult day as we had to euthanize our cat due to kidney failure. We have mostly been working with Dr. Torkelson through this but he is away this week. Dr. Beck made the experience as peaceful as possible and he was calming to have around during the process. Unfortunately we had to put our other cat down nine months ago and I can say doing the procedure with Dr. Beck was as good as you could hope for under such circumstances. Our sweet little cat passed on with a gentle purr and a sigh of relief.

Over the years we have seen both Dr. Beck and Dr. Torkelson for all of our dogs through all the phases of their life. Both very knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. Always followed up after major appointments to see how the dogs were doing. Can't recommend enough.

I have been coming to the Beck clinic since this summer after an emergency vet exam for my cat (and subsequent bad customer service from my old vet clinic). Beck clinic has been super useful, friendly, and helpful since day 1. They will order in food for you if you need it and they refill medications very quickly.
The front staff have been so informative and friendly every time I have visited which is so great!
Dr.Beck and Dr. Torkelson have both been really great with my cat and has always given me options in terms of different treatments available!.

Dr. Beck is always very loving and gentle with my pets and seems to genuinely care. He doesn't rush the appointment, answers all your questions etc.
Clinic is spacious, always very clean and staff are friendly.
Vet visits are expensive but I think that's the same with any place you go.
I do recommend this place and Dr. Beck as a veterinarian.
Location is convenient in a little strip mall. Always lots of parking right out the front of the clinic.

I have just recently brought my pet to Beck Vet Clinic out of necessity/promixity mostly. I have 17 yr old dog that is experiencing some major health issues as she is reaching her ripe old age.
One day I came home and my dog was not doing well so my choices were either take her to the Emergency Vet Clinic or try this vet that is just 2 blocks away from my house. Having been to the Emergency Vet a few times I was hoping that making it to a regular vet clinic might be a better choice. They were closing within a few hours but they were able to squeeze me in for an emergency visit.

The Veterinarians and staff are beyond excellent at this beautiful, clean, pet friendly clinic. Everyone made me and my little puppy feel very welcome and comfortable. My little puppy had messed on himself on the ride over for his 1st visit. The love and affection that was shown as we walked through the door was beyond expectation. They cleaned him up, showering him in kisses and praise making his experience at the vet a very positive and warm one. I would like to amend my review of Beck Vet Clinic. Although I was quite disappointed after visiting the clinic to obtain information from Dr. Beck because of the judgmental feeling I obtained from two of the vet technicians, I am very pleased with the follow up from the clinic manager. She was very reasonable in addressing my concerns and I greatly appreciated this. I intend to meet with Dr. Beck as offered by the manager to further reconcile and obtain much needed information regarding procedures for my kitten.
