MIDI is the choice destination for a perfect combination of Mediterranean light fare and classic French bistro cuisine, in a relaxed European atmosphere. Southern French fare is simply and deliciously complemented by a selection of wines, mainly from Languedoc and Rhone Valley. Definitely not stuffy or pretentious, your wallet will feel pleased too.
MIDI, located on McCaul street, is a few steps from the AGO and just south of Baldwin.

Had their escargot, which was swimming in lovely creamy garlic sauce but came with the two smallest pieces of baguette bread. My main was the seafood risotto, which was okay.
My friend had the duck confit, which he said wasn't bad. The blueberry sauce, fries, and salad were really nice components to the dish.
Does it compare to a three course meal in any family run restaurant on the block in France? No. Is it still okay in its own right? Yes.

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch, right @1130 when they opened. I highly recommend making reservations or coming right when they open for lunch, as it got really busy as soon as 12pm hit. We were lucky to come at that time because our order was taken and food came out in time before the restaurant was fully filled.
We ordered: smoked salmon tartines (I got it with half salad half fries option), countryside tartines and blackened salmon penne. The smoked salmon tartine was lovely! It was quite filling and I was pretty satisfied. The countryside tartine was a bit lighter if you don&apos

Came here for Summerlicious lunch. The restaurant is decently sized, but extremely busy and packed. If you're considering coming for lunch, you may wish to allocate two full hours as the service is rather slow.
I ordered the Cassolette d'Escargots for my appetizer. Creamy and light, it came with two pieces of bread and escargots already pulled out of their shell.
For the main, I ordered the Seafood Risotto. The risotto "looked" small but was actually a decent portion, stuffed with shrimp and calamari. Would definitely recommend.
Profiteroles were creamy and delicious, and

Came here for winterlicious dinner recently and loved the food! We ordered pâté and escargots as appetizers, with duck confit and seafood risotto for mains, and the profiteroles and creme brûlée as desserts. My favourite was the seafood risotto as it had all the flavours that fit my palette. The escargots were also very good- they actually gave quite a bit of escargots. The duck confit was a little dry and tough, but the flavour was good. The profiteroles were amazing with the chocolate sauce. Creme brûlée was pretty ordinary - I felt like I've had better. The service was absolutely

We came here on a Saturday evening for a double date during winterlicious and felt the food was decent. It was $33 for an app, main, and dessert. The standout for me was the escargot which came with two slices of bread. I ordered the pate, seafood fettuccine, and creme brûlée. My boyfriend ordered the seafood risotto, which he felt was alright and would try something else next time. Our waitress was superb and brought us water all the time.
Good double date spot overall.

In my time here there has always been Midi, tucked away on the corner of McCaul and Elm. Overshadowed, one might say, by the Baldwin St strip just North.
I have enjoyed its consistency through less consistent phases of my life. I changed, it didn't. Worked for me.
We had dinner there Thursday night. We've been there several times since the fire... we were afraid we had lost them but they persevered ... and the latest reminded us of why we love this place.
Simple, perfectly done bistro food in the full french sense of the word. Attentive, effective service. And prices that are modest

I love this restaurant! ^_^ Let talk about it!
First of all, let me mention that this review is based on Summerlicious 2018 experience. Did you hear that? It was Summerlicious! Normally, it's difficult for me to be impressed with Summerlicious menus. It is because most of the restaurants would low their qualities or portions in order to be able to serve customers inexpensive prix-fixe menus. I understand that and accept it. I still love the idea that LiciousTO gives us a chance to try food & drinks at the top restaurants across Toronto with special prices every year. There are many good

Summerlicious 2018 - Number 4
I wasn't going to yet another licious outing I already been to three already but I couldn't resist after hearing good things about this resto. I ended up doing a meetup yesterday for lunch for 6 people. Restaurant was busy but then it is expected as it is cozy. Half of my meetup party of 6 ended up being extremely late due to the subway construction. It led to some anxiety on my part since I felt really bad for the restaurant as the waiter kept asking me when the rest of the party will arrive.
The restaurant prix fix 3 courses menu of $23 for lunch and

Went to Midi Bistro with 10 friends. It saddens me to rate 2 stars but here was issue with service and dessert.
With the rain that came down, a lot of friends were delayed in getting in. The servers were rushing us quite a bit because we were holding tables for summerlicious.
I overall felt rushed with constant retrieving individual dishes as soon as you ate the last bite. I understand for its a small places and their profit is based on customer turnover, but we did make a reservation with a large party in advance.
I ordered the escargo appetizer. The mussels with dijionnaise and the profiterollis

Love my Summerlicious lunch at Midi. For $23 + tax, both the service and food were well worth the trip.
The escargots for appetizer were flavorful. The sauce was so yummy that I wanted more bread for dipping. The morsels were tender. A definite popular dish with my friends.
For the main course, I ordered blackened salmon fillet with penne. The fillet was a decent portion. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. The penne was really good with white wine cream sauce.
Dessert was profiteroles - puff pastry with cream and chocolate sauce. It was so good, not overly sweet. Just the right balance

My summerlicious experience with my family
The app and entree was great but the dessert was disappointing.
Had a great time with my family
We quite enjoyed the fish cause it wasn't a filet it was a whole fish!!!
The duck confit was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside!
The mushroom soup was very rich in flavour!

Came here for the summerlicious lunch and had a decent experience. I ordered the escargots as an appetizer, the seafood fettuccine as my main, and creme brûlée as my dessert. My boyfriend ordered pate de champagne, seafood risotto, and profiteroles. My favourite would have to be the escargots. They gave a decent portion, and it was garlicky goodness. It would've been nice if they gave more than 2 tiny slices of bread though. Same goes for the pate - it was good, but could've used more bread. Both the seafood risotto and the seafood fettuccine came with 2 black tiger shrimps, 6-7 pieces

Great spot for a quick, light lunch at an affordable price!
The atmosphere of the french-style bistro is very welcoming and polished. The service really stood out, the servers were kind and attentive. The food was brought out quickly, we didn't have to wait for more than 15 mins.
The food was good, simple, but maybe a bit underwhelming depending on what you get. We split everything we got between 2 people. We ordered the the salmon quiche, which was probably my favourite. It came with a side salad and we added fries. We also ordered the Mediterranean tartine (sandwich contents on toast

I had the pleasure to enjoy their Winterlicious menu. The overall experience was pleasant.
I ordered a French Onion Soup, which is sub par, not the best I had and definitely not the worst. I ordered their New Zealand Lamb Shank Braised in a Sweet Vermouth Sauce. I wasn't totally sold on the sauce, but I did enjoy introducing my taste buds to it. It might be what I'm accustom to, but I feel the sweet taste in the sauce was a bit too dominant to my liking. I feel it wasn't too complimentary as the sauce melt in your mouth, your struck with too many uncertainty as it tried too hard

I've walked past this place many times without the urge to go in, but my roommate invited me to try the Winterlicious menu with her and I regret a little for not trying this place earlier. Maybe it's because I went with low expectation but whatever expectation I had, Midi has blown it out of the water.
Their food is delicious with large portion size. We started with the Cassolette d'Escargots and Salade Midi. The Escargots won out this round; it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly creamy. I wish they gave a few more slices of bread to soak up all that soup. The salad was good

3.5/5, +.5 for service
It's not everyday where you can find an excellent French restaurant in Toronto at a relatively affordable price.
Midi Bistro is a French-style bistro on McCaul Street, within walking distance of UT and OCAD. If you wanna try French food for a lower price than places like Auberge du Pommier, this place does the job well. The ambience screams French, as well as many French words inside the bistro itself.
Their lunch specials are at a maximum price of $15, so it's definitely great value for what you get. The portions are reasonable as well, so you will likely be

Came here for summerlicious again, wasn't too impressed by the experience. Service was fast, a lil TOO fast. Food came within 10mins of ordering and there was less than 2mins between courses. Servers asked to collect plates when there were still food. We got the bill before we were asked. There were empty tables so I didn't understand the rush.
Escagots were tasty as usual, 1 extra piece of bread for the sauce would have been nice. I got the moroccan beef stew. It was fragrant and smelled of wine and vegetables. The apricots and carrots were lovely but the beef was a little dry. The

I love coming to Midi Bistro not only because of the food but also for the great service! I have tried their regular menu as well as the 'Licious menu. The place is small but homey and reminds you of a French bistro.
For appetizer, you MUST try their Cassolette dEscargots. This is sauteed Snails in Basil Cream Sauce. The taste is extra-ordinary, you won't even notice you're eating Snails. They also offer one of the best melt in your mouth Osso Bucco in Toronto.
Don't let the other reviews stop you from trying this restaurant. I already dined at this restaurant three times

Stumbled upon this place on the way to that momo sushi place and saw it was summerlicious, so decided to pop in.
Going on, I got the vibe that it's French/Italian, mostly because j'ai vu un mur couverte avec un poème or something like it. The menu itself has French names but it was mostly pastas in the entrées so I guessed it was some fusion thing.
This is definitely a cute date spot. Tables don't hold more than 4 and the dining area is tightly packed and dimly lit but I guess it adds to the romantic ambience.
I had this prosciutto salad with mixed greens and asiago cheese
