Drive out to Big Lake Sod Farm near Wetaskiwin, Alberta during the spring and summer, and you'll see a luxurius carpet of manicured emerald green stretching to the horizon. While it may look like a park or a golf course, you're really looking at a crop.

Beginning in mid-April, that grass will be cut into sod and distributed to Edmonton and surrounding area, providing a head start on mature lawns for homes, parks, golf courses and sport facilities.In today's hustle and bustle we expect convenience, efficiency and quality in the products we use. From residential developments to landscaping contractors, from the Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium to golf courses, Big Lake Sod Farm serves them all. When you visit Big Lake Sod Farm you are not driving onto a golf course or nature retreat, you are driving onto a crop that will soon be growing on parks, homes and golf courses throughout Alberta.
For commercial and residential projects we recommend our small roll, which measures approximately 2x5 feet. For projects larger than 10,000 square feet we suggest big rolls. These rolls measure approximately 4x90 feet and require installation with specialized equipment. Big roll can be installed by our professional installers with the assistance of 3 additional persons provided by you, the customer.
Big Lake Sod Farm is located just north east of Wetaskiwin at the intersection of Range Road 232 and Township 471. Our civic address is 470088 Range Road 232. Our Edmonton Sod Depot is located behind RCL Canada at 9535-62 Avenue NW in Edmonton Alberta. Once you get there simply go to the back and look for our depot building.
Remember when planning your yard, to deduct the areas you plan to create flowerbeds, garden areas, patios or deck areas. If you haven't already installed sidewalks don't forget to deduct these areas from your measurements. With a tape measure, note length and width in feet. Only measure what is to be sodded.

We had a great experience ordering from Big Lake Sod! All of the staff we spoke with were knowledgeable and so cheerful. Prices are also much better than going to a reseller in Edmonton, and the sod is fresh cut.
