Adams, Paul
The psychotherapy work of Paul Adams of Windsor is focused on helping people to overcome challenges and problems they face and to guide them in finding greater purpose and meaning in their lives. Through psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, Paul works with people to address a wide variety of concerns, including emotional and mental issues that involve: depression, anxiety and panic attacks, eating disorders, addictions, and the issues faced by survivors of childhood abuse.

He also works with individuals in mid-life who, having completed most of life's goals, feel stuck and are suffering a loss of energy and lack of direction as to where to go next.As a Jungian psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, Paul Adams guides individuals towards a deeper self-inquiry that helps lead to change in one or more areas of their life.
Services
Paul Adams first came to Windsor, Ontario from the UK to teach and study in 1975 and returned to the UK for two years of training and work in therapeutic communities in the area of adult psychiatric treatment. At that time he became involved with various experiential psychotherapeutic modalities including gestalt, primal work, art therapy, but more importantly entered into Jungian analysis to better understand himself.
Individual therapy allows you to meet on a regular basis with Paul Adams in a safe, non-threatening and non-judgemental environment. You can discuss your fears, thoughts and emotions through free discussion. Paul will offer thought-provoking insights regarding your behaviors, personal patterns and concerns.
Jungian analysis recognizes the potential in each individual and assists in the journey toward allowing the person to develop themselves fully. This will frequently involve looking at the way that past experiences have affected the individual and the way they continue to prevent us from living fulfilled lives.
Clinical supervision in Psychotherapy is offered to therapists throughout Ontario and particularly those in training, needing supervision hours towards becoming a registered psychotherapist. The College of Registered Psychotherapists recommends supervision to all its members. This is why Paul's supervision includes a range of experience to assist both new practitioners and seasoned clinicians.
For over a decade Paul Adams has facilitated small dream groups (five to seven people) for those who have wished to better understand the world of their own unconscious and thereby better understand themselves. The dream groups provide a safe, non-judging place from which to explore dreams.

However, it should be said, that whenever a person feels uncomfortable with what the process is revealing, they are respected and not pushed to probe further into places they feel they would rather not venture.Dream group members take turns each meeting to present a dream and a single dream is the focus of the entire meeting, (one and a half hours), whether it be a complex 'narrative' or a single brief image.
