Dr. Moein Momtazi is a board certied plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a clinical interest in complex oncologic reconstruction, breast surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. Dr. Momtazi received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2003 from the University of Winnipeg.
He went on to complete his Medical Doctorate from the University of Manitoba in 2007. Jessica comes to Dr. Momtazi's practice with a desire to help others and over 5 years of experience in the healthcare administration. Jessica has been recognized for her committment to patient care with a gratitude award. Jessica manages the day-to-day operations of the practice and coordinates all patient consults, follow-ups and surgical procedures.
Breast reconstruction can be performed for women who have lost one or both breasts to mastectomy or for women who lack breasts due to congenital or developmental abnormalities. The goal of breast reconstruction is to create a breast and nipple that resemble the natural breast as closely as possible in shape, size and position.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer and underwent a mastectomy as part of my treatment plan. In 2017 I saw a presentation by Dr. Momtazi at BRA Day and decided that DIEP Flap reconstruction was a viable reconstruction option for me. Dr Momtazi’s presentation was informative and understandable, but more importantly, Dr Momtazi was kind and compassionate in talking about the surgery and the emotional impact a mastectomy and possible reconstruction has on breast cancer patients. I am very grateful to be treated by Dr Momtazi because he is a wonderful doctor. I felt very comfortable with him and his excellent team. He has a great personality: he listens, he's kind, he's caring, he's attentive, he's thorough, and he's thoughtful. He did a great job stitching me back up, I can barely see the incision. He also made time to see me right away when I had a health emergency. In addition, he is knowledgeable and always answers all my questions. I believe he is a great doctor and strongly recommend him.

I met Dr. Momtazi as part of my surgeon team. Had BC, felt loss and scared when I first met him. He made me feel like I was important not a number. Made me feel at peace. Explained to me the part of the procedure that he would do with his team. My surgery was about 11 hours. It was life or death at my door. He shows so much empathy kindness compassion towards me. Dr. Momtazi team of interns, nurses, clerical staff wore also very nice to me. After care was excellent.. I consider Dr. Momtazi as a friend. He is an artist in my eyes to do what he does with reconstruction surgery.

Dr. Momtazi made an uncomfortable time in my life much easier with his kind manner and excellent work. I came to his office on referral from Dr. Tsoulis as melanoma was found on my face. Dr. Momtazi surgically removed the melanoma and some surrounding tissue with precision. With all of the cancer cells removed and then sent for further testing, I am free from the cancer. I was quite nervous of the issue of scaring as the surgery is right out in the open on my face but Dr. Momtazi has made the incision perfectly along a natural line (smile line) and it is blending in very well. Being diagnosed with breast cancer is very scary. Making the decision to have a double mastectomy can be traumatic, and then having to decide on reconstruction, is not an easy process.
