J Taylor Antiques was founded in London, England, in 1979 as an antique restoration company. We expanded to buying period furniture at provincial estate auctions, restoring it and selling through the London auction market and in 1996 we opened our first retail store in Kingston upon Thames.
In 2002, we relocated to Canada and opened a retail store on Locke Street, Hamilton, however, we continued to source nearly all our stock from the same English auction houses and certain highly reputable Home Counties dealers.In 2017, we relocated our head office (and home) to Brantford, Ontario, while continuing to maintain the retail premises on Locke Street.

It was a great experience to visit this place where you feel more in an art gallery rather than in an antique store. Incredible English and French pieces of furniture specially selected by the friendly owner Julian. His knowledge captivated me when he took the time to show me special details of the craftsmanship and different types of wood according to the period when the pieces were made. Thank you so much for making my visit to Hamilton a memorable time. This is a must for lovers of art, history and design all combined.
