Having returned to Sault Ste. Marie after serving in WWII, Raymond Cartmill opened Lock City Monuments in 1950. Raymond's vision and keen business sense has created the foundation of Lock City Monuments, which has been passed down through the generations. Still run by the Cartmill family, Lock City Monuments shows no signs of aging or slowing down.
Second generation owner, Dave has been in the monument industry for over 40 years and knows the trade like the back of his hand. Having learned the business from a young age with his father Raymond, Dave is an expert when it comes to product knowledge, ordering and logistics. I highly recommend not dealing with this company. They insulted my mother by saying “are you looking for a deal” when she went into business asking why my sisters picture wasn’t on the grave stone after being billed for grave stone and picture. My mom was so hurt by this, these people are terrible. I will never use this business.

Highly recommend Lock City Monuments. My family has worked with them several times over the past two decades and they were always pleasant and easy to work with during our time of difficulty. They are the only company in town that focuses solely on monuments and headstones, so they know what they're doing!
