It has been in the current location and building since the fall of 1972. We have been an important part of the Oakville and Burlington, Ontario, area community for four decades and are happy to see and treat all species. Our veterinary team currently consists of four veterinarians who are supported by a dedicated team of health consultants, technicians, and animal care staff.

This place is a joke. Their office manager, all she is out for is how much to charge the client and she does not care about the well-being of your pet at all.
Their doctors, all they do is complain when appointments are being booked, and they show absolutely no empathy to their clients when you were dealing with a difficult health concern.
This place is the worst, and if you can help it, just go somewhere else... You'll save your money and your animal will receive a much better care, literally down the street

We have been going there for over 16 years now. 4 dogs and we use all of the vets and vet techs and staff. EVERYONE there is amazing! They are there for you 100%.
Caring people who we could not have asked more of when we were in our time of grief for our 2 older girls. They supported us so very much.

This is the only hospital in Oakville that specializes in exotic and pocket pets. Unfortunately, the value of this hospital ends there. I have a preferred vet who occasionally refers me to this hospital to treat my pocket pets (hamster and guinea pigs). I have had multiple pets treated here. There was almost always a red flag or issue in my experience.
1.) I never receive follow-ups after treatment and even surgery. I have had surgery and medication administered by this hospital and received no follow up and no post-surgery care. I had to research post-op care on my own. This patient ended up

I highly recommend! There's an exotic vet within 10 minutes of me but anytime I need a vet I'll always drive the almost hour to Burloak instead. I booked an appointment for my snake as a new patient due to an ongoing issue. When I later called with more concerns, the appointment was moved up and fit into the end of the day. Dr. McKinnon stayed over an hour after closing to thoroughly examined my snake, explain what could be done, and patiently answer my questions. They called me the next two mornings to check in. When the prescribed medication didn't solve the issue, we were booked for another

Great experience and caring staff. looked after my 7 year old budgie Cotton and helped her lay an egg. they kept her over an hour after they closed on Saturday and said she was okay to go home after they helped with one egg. second was broken inside. Clinic said I could bring her back Monday morning for a quick check. The office called Monday evening and Tuesday again to ask how she was doing! Well done Burloak Animal Hospital!! Thank you!

The staff is amazing. We have a pug with many different problems, and they always, always, help us immediately and they helped us get her back to being healthy. We also took our mastiff there, and again, they were awesome with her. When the time came to put her down, I couldn't have asked for more empathy at such a sad time.

All of Burloak's staff has been amazing in treating my turtle! They answer all of my questions, are extremely thorough with her care and super accommodating! Extremely knowledgeable and dedicated staff. My 6 month old bunny was recently neutered here. Excellent on-going communication throughout the process. Cost was extremely reasonable. They really understand rabbits and what they need. After care was excellent. Bunny recovered quickly because of the expertise of these people. I have alot of experience with rabbits. This vet is definitely worthy of your trust, when it comes to bunny care.

On July 22 we went to the vet because of Kira's fedder picking . Kira was a happy and silly bird , that love to love When we came to the vet at 7 pm they had us wait in the room and the technician asked us… about her improvement since the last visit which took place 1 year ago . During the passed year we had been giving her 3 medications however nothing helped. Other then being a bit bold here and there , she was very healthy and vibrant. The vet came to the room and ast the technician to hold kira from the neck so she can hear her heart checked her ears and other routine checks and said

As a new reptile owner, we brought our bearded dragon here for a wellness check. I chose this animal hospital based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The vet was very knowledgeable on reptiles and was gentle and kind with our pet and answered our many questions. We'll definitely bring our beardie back here if he has any issues.

An informative and enjoyable experience when I brought my daughter and her pet Gecko in for a wellness check. As someone who rescues cats, the Gecko world is foreign to me and I can genuinely say I was thoroughly impressed with the veterinarian and staff members who shared their knowledge and expertise with us. The best place to take exotics! Finding a vet that will see a ferret is hard enough, but they go above and beyond to make sure your loved ones are well taken care of. I've had several ferrets in the past and I've taken every one of them to Burloak, it's well worth the drive for me! The staff are some of the nicest people I've met. It's obvious how much they care about animals of all shapes and sizes, they'll even check in to see how your little one is doing after their visit. They have most treatments onsite, and they'll give you options for how you'd like to proceed with your fur babies treatments
