River East Scholar's Nursery School is currently accepting registrations for our 2021-2022 school year. We have spaces left in our MWF PM class. River East Scholars is a co-op nursery school offering an exceptional play-based curriculum designed to truly inspire the young minds that enter our space.

Our loving and dedicated teachers work hard to create an environment rich in materials and experiences for the intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth of our students. We are committed to providing a non-pressured, non-judgemental atmosphere where the children feel free to explore and discover at their own pace.
Services
River East Scholars Nursery School Inc. offers both a Nursery School program for children 3 - 5 and a unique Kindercare program for children attending kindergarten. We are a non-profit, charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are located at 323 Emerson Avenue. River East Scholars Nursery School is fortunate to occupy an extremely spacious room inside Emerson Elementary School.
We believe that learning is an active process. Children learn best through play. Through play, children learn to devise, surmise, compromise and empathize. It is our job to provide an environment whereby the children feel safe and excited to explore. Our teachers guide children's development by providing opportunities for the children to imagine, invent, create, experiment, discover and draw conclusions on their own.
My name is Darcy Davies. I am a mother of five, and a grandmother of 10. I have just completed my eighteenth year with the nursery school this year. I have been working with children in many different capacities from teaching Sunday school and Girl guides to running a home daycare to working in the nursery school, for the past 27 years.
The main purpose of our Nursery School is to provide a safe, friendly atmosphere where children learn through play and through their own sense of wonder. Our goal is to provide materials, toys and activities that arouse children's curiosity, stimulate their creativity and build independence and confidence.
Children grow every day through their experiences in play. At RESNS, our curriculum seeks to provide children with the opportunities to develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively at their individual levels. We encourage these opportunities in a variety of ways.

By offering children planned activities, as well as spontaneous experiences based on children's interests and ideas we seek to ensure that children have input into the way they spend their day.We also seek to build interactive and meaningful relationships between staff and the children in our care, as well as between the children themselves.

I love this nursery school for my 3 year old. The staff are very friendly, they provide my son lots of activities to do. They even gave him a gift at Christmas :D. I also love the 3 play structures around the school, they go out when the weather is nice.
I highly recommend sending your child here. I wish kids could start here at 2.
