16 vintage lanes to satisfy your five-pin bowling needs, Alberta's finest craft beer on tap, snacks by Drift Food Truck. Invented in 1909 at Toronto Bowling Club in response to customer feedback that ten-pin was too strenuous. Five-pin bowling is played only in Canada and balls have been rolling on our original wood lanes since '59.
We're a 3rd generation family-owned business. Lawrence Stride opened our doors in 1959 and established a gathering spot where people could socialize and master the art of five-pin bowling. Lawrence's son, Terry took over this Edmonton mainstay in '77 and kept the good times rolling for 40 years until he decided it was time to trade his bowling shoes for a cold pint and a warm patio.

Could not recommend Plaza Bowling Co enough! Hosted an event here with a university student group and it was phenomenal, thanks to the incredibly kind, organized, and enthusiastic staff! Everything ran super smoothly - from checking in 100+ people, to food + drinks service, to the tournament schedule. Thank you for an amazing night, Plaza Bowling!

I wanted to give a review of this bowling alley because of how kind and understanding their staff was to my mom. My mom is deaf and is dependent on lip reading to understand people. She has been struggling with masks obstructing people's faces and muffling their voices during the pandemic. To be honest, I've watch people dismiss or belittle my mom my entire life due to her disability. They have treated her as if she is stupid for asking them to repeat themselves or rolled their eyes when she has misunderstood them. Not the staff at Plaza Bowl. She was greatly struggling to understand the staff

I brought my 8 year old to Plaza Bowling today for an impromptu afternoon mother son date.
The staff were helpful and fabulous! We met Trevor towards the end who's the grandson of the original owners from 1959! Plaza is celebrating their 60th Anniversary this year and they even have cute merch to celebrate!
We selected a Plaza T-shirt sticker for $1 to go on our Thule. Every time I see it I will be reminded of today's fun date!
It's a Tuesday afternoon so bowling was on special for just under $5 a game/person. I enjoyed an adult bev and my son a Mountain Dew. Our total

I organized a team building event on a Sunday evening at Plaza Bowling. Trevor was quick to respond to my request for info about booking a group and made it extremely easy over email to reserve.
When I arrived, I chatted with Alanna who set up our lanes, asked how I wanted the tab to work and even gave me drinks tickets to give to my staff as the company was footing with bill for bowling and a drink for each person and this would make it easy to keep track.
The lane itself is pretty retro but is clean and has a cool vibe about it. Likely due to the eclectic staff and young crowd that patrons

My family enjoyed an extra fun evening at Plaza Bowling tonight! The cost is $15.75 for two games and shoes for adults and $14.70 for two games and shoes for kids.
They sell food made by Drift Food Truck, which is extremely awesome because it's some of the best food in the city.
I purchased a dish of drift chips with cilantro dip and a craft beer for 12.42 after the tip.
I'm hoping to bring my family there again soon!

We went as a family to Bowl here based on a recommendation from a friend. Right away we were positively impacted by the Retro look and feel of the establishment. Even the benches were wonderfully restored. The service at the counter was prompt and very good humored. As we bowled we also were able to enjoy excellent craft beer. The people working at the bowling alley were very friendly. It turns out the bowling alley had been in the family for generations and there was a picture of their grandfather from back in the 60s that was on the wall. It was very cool. We enjoyed it very much and will return

God I love this place! I came here for a work function (wherein we loudly and obnoxiously occupied half the lanes for about 2 hours) and everyone had such a nice time! The service was fast and friendly and I can see they have added some nice local beers to their boozey options. I love that it looks unchanged from the 60s. I can honestly say that bowling is funner here than anywhere else in town- trust me!

Wow. That was a load of fun. Still smiling.
The Stride family has operated the Plaza Bowl since the late 50's.
What a great place to host a retro bowling night for our Rotary club.
The good service started out with the first phone call. We needed space for a reception -no problem, no charge. Separate bills -done. Bring in our own food -okay. Plaza Bowl is RETRO but clean, clean, and offers automatic counters -Thankfully. The owner helped us set up the board and not with the attitude we've experienced elsewhere. They checked on us to make sure we were okay, which was a really nice

We were there January 21, 2015 to celebrate the birthday of an esteemed colleague from the office. Group of 17 or so, plus another co-workers two little girls. We had a BLAST!. Since they don't have food options, and just a few snacks, they allow customers to either bring or order their own food, so we did that, they set up a table for us to put the food on, set up the bowling lanes and we started having fun. At the end of the night the bill for the use of the facilities came down to $110 or so. This is a great, reasonably priced venue for team building activities and other celebrations. The

They don't make bowling alleys like this anymore!
At first glance Plaza Bowl might look a little out of date to say the least, but don't be fooled! This is a hidden gem of Edmonton!
If you're into cheesy laser shows, overpriced bar food, and obnoxiously loud music, then this isn't your place. But if you are into a bowling alley with some history and extremely friendly people, then you'll love Plaza Bowl!
It's like experiencing what a bowling alley was like in the 1960's! Everything is made of hardwood... the seats, the lanes, the walls etc. And I was told

I'm not a frequent bowler, but I came here once and had a lot of fun. It is a five-pin and it wasn't very busy, even though there are 16 lanes. The alley has a dive feel. It's not flashy, like other bowling places I've been to. But it'll do the trick to quell a craving to knock over a few pins on a Saturday night. There's a very, very small snack bar but you can order a bag of chips and a few beers to cool off during your games. This place probably has a busy night, so call ahead to check when that is. The neighbourhood's not the best, so make sure you lock your
