I will never take another exotic pet to this clinic. I brought my 7 month old mouse to get checked because she was having issues with her eye and Calgary Avian and Exotic was booked up. The doctor had no idea how to handle a mouse and hesitated to touch her. When I offered to scruff her for him he refused and pinned her down with his hand to the point that she got stressed and played dead. I have taken my mice to 2 emergency vets and Calgary Avian and Exotic and have never had my mice handled so rough. He said she just had an eye infection and gave us drops. Less then a week later she had no improvement

Great vet. Also the only place I could find that carries the non-adjuvant Purevax rabies vaccine for cats. My cat has kidney disease and all other vaccines aside from Purevax have adjuvants that inflame and damage the kidneys. I was happy to find this vaccine there. The vet was also very helpful in providing information about a website with homemade cat food recipes instead of trying to discourage me from feeding homemade food (which my cat does best on) like other vets have done. Really liked this vet clinic.

We cannot thank Dr. Minda and all of his staff enough for all their help, professional, compassion, honesty and caring for our beautiful girl Juno. At 13 years old and having had multiple health issues, her… body started attacking its own red blood cells Dr. Minda was very honest with us about the chances of her surviving this latest setback but he said if we did decide to go ahead and try blood transfusions, that he would advise the SAVE HOSPITAL in Okotoks that we were on our way. We did go ahead with the treatment...to no avail. 4 days later we had to say goodbye to our beautiful girl

I had to make a very tough decision with my beloved pet bunny. I was dreading going in to put her to rest all day. The Dr. was kind and empathetic. He had treated her previously and has such knowledge on bunnies. I trust and recomened him if you have a small animal. When I took her in I was crying as I was about to lay my loving bunny to rest. He made the atmosphere very warm and comforting. Even though my husband could not come in due to CoVID restrictions I still felt comfortable. She went very peacefully and I could not push more on the fact that the whole clinic was comforting. The receptionist

Wonderful service, there's very few vets that treat fish in Calgary (2 including this one to my knowledge) and because of the medication ban you can no longer get meds for your fish without a prescription. These guys did an excellent job of getting me a quick appointment, assessment, and prescription. The desk lady was kind, friendly and understanding, especially compared to the very different experience I had with the Calgary Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic (phone lady was condescending and rude; talked to me like I was a little kid and said "no, we can't just hand medication for fish over the counter

Fantastic, family-ran vet clinic. We brought our rabbit here and Dr. Milcius was thorough yet gentle, and made the often stressful experience a breeze. We've called on several occasions to make last minute appointments and they are always quick to help fit us in. Would recommend to anyone that has rabbits and is looking for a great rabbit-savvy veterinarian.

Highly recommend this clinic. I was worried about the health of my new ball python thinking he has a respiratory infection and the doctor did a thorough exam to make sure he was okay. There was also a lot of conversation and advice regarding his care moving forward that made me feel very confident as a pet owner. I went in extremely worried and left with peace of mind and honestly felt so relieved and happy. As well the receptionist was super friendly and welcoming from the get go which helped ease my anxiety about my little guy as I was waiting to see the doctor.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at this clinic!! All the staff were amazing to deal with. The new girl Kendra was amazing dealing with my 6 foot boa aswell as the vet. Very happy with my experience would recommend to anyone with any type of pet at home!! Also the price was amazing I couldn’t believe how not overly expensive it was. Today I called to make an appointment for my 5 month old bearded dragon, Knox and Avenida Pet Clinic was able to fit me in on the same day for a wellness check! The staff are wonderful, compassionate and well… educated on all species of animals including reptiles! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a vet! I will definitely be a returning customer!

Have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Milcius and the clinic since he has taken over ownership of it. He’s knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive. He was able to squeeze us in for a quick surgical procedure after our dog was bit at the off-leash park (late on a Friday evening!). We feel fortunate to have him in our corner for not only the routine checkups and shots, but for those emergency situations as well. Highly recommend him and his team!

Brought a python to the clinic. Was absolutely impressed with Dr. Milcius' knowledge and compassion. It at times seems some vets are more about how much they can charge you to take advantage of peoples hearts. This was absolutely not the case here - this is clearly a practice that cares about its patients and their humans. Will definitely use Avenida again.

I'm always impressed with the staff at the Avenida Pet Clinic and the attention they pay to their clients. My 6 month old puppy has received great care for all of it's puppy vaccinations and checkups, and most… importantly a recent illness. It might not mean much but I notice they always know the names of the other dogs and the owners as they are also brought into the clinic, to me it shows they care.
