A few years after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. John Littlejohn established the Woodbine Animal Clinic. Since its inception in 1978 it has seen many changes both to the neighbourhood around it, and to the staff and clients within. Still owned and operated by Dr. Littlejohn, he and his staff continue to move forward with Veterinary medicine.
We are here to help you understand every aspect of your pet's health. We are a dedicated group of professional that love our job and truly care for your furry friends. The Woodbine Animal Clinic team is here to help keep your pets healthy and happy. Dr. Littlejohn graduated from the Ontario College of Veterinarians in 1972, and established the Woodbine Animal Clinic in 1978.
Dental cleanings and Extractions - Periodontal disease is the most commonly found health problem in our pets. Human studies have found links between periodontal disease and serious diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory ailments and osteoporosis. Likewise, veterinary studies have linked heart, kidney and liver problems, in addition to other systemic health conditions, to pets with poor oral health.
A complete physical exam may not be a lengthy procedure, but it provides a wealth of information to the Veterinarian. The pet is both observed and palpated from the tip of the nose right to the tip of their tail.
The veterinarian will be looking to see if your pet is under or over weight, if their teeth and mouth are healthy, if there are any abnormal lumps or bumps found on your pets body, the condition of their skin and coat, they will feel the abdomen to check for enlarged or abnormal organs and they will listen to your pets heart and lungs to ensure there are no abnormal rhythms or sounds.

It is important that you understand what you are buying when you purchase a food to feed to your pet. There is no way to determine the true quality of a pet food by reading the ingredient list or the guaranteed analysis. In fact, two products that appear to have the same guaranteed analysis might have actual nutrient levels that vary significantly.

Thanks to the Woodbine Animal Clinic our 1 year old dog has regained his vision.
We greatly appreciate Dr. Scott's dedication and persistence in getting an ophthalmology consult to make sure Finn was started on the right medications as quickly as possible.
Thanks to Dr. Scott, Finn is able to see again and is back to his usual activities.
We are so very grateful to her and the team at Woodbine Animal Clinic.

5 STARS!
They made everything so relaxed and straightforward. They were amazing! My dog Truman is not very agreeable and downright aggressive towards vets, but they handled him with TLC and understanding. Highly recommend. Thank you Dr Littlejohn and the whole team. Incredible people and a wonderful place!

I have had nothing but a great experience at woodbine animal clinic. Everyone is super nice and great with my pup. We became a client during covid and I haven't met many people in person exept for over the phone. But they have been really friendly and accommodating. They have a long time client with my pup.🐶

I have been taking my adopted feral cat, Jenkins, to Woodbine Animal Clinic for 7 or 8 years now. The care she has received from Drs. Littlejohn and Scott has been superb. Caring, kind, knowledgeable, and so nice! Front desk and assistant staff have also been great in any of our dealings. All vets are expensive but I think this clinic is a bit more reasonable than many. Highly recommend.

The vets and techs and all the staff here are just so wonderful. We moved across the city and there are lots of vets in our new neighbourhood but we won't switch because we have had such a great experience here. The staff go above and beyond to answer our questions and address our concerns. Thank you for all of your warmth, great advice, and confidence we have in the care our fur babies, Bernard and Caroline, receive!

Our little guy is difficult to handle but Dr. Woods and friends take such good care of him nonetheless. They were super empathetic both times that there was a difficult diagnosis to share with us about our little guy. They took us through the treatment plan and made themselves available for our 101 questions without ever making us feel like we were asking too many. We've had other vets and none were as great as the WAC team. ❤

I have 2 dogs, I was using a vet in Burlington and thought it might be wise to get one closer to home, about a month ago, I planned on traveling to the USA and called the vet re my vaccination certificate, she said, the vaccines expire in September 2018, but I needed to contact my previous clinic, as they had done the vaccines, after speaking with… my previous clinic, it was discovered they expired in September 2017, when I questioned woodbine about it, I was told the records came in unclear, but they did no follow up. Since September 2017, my dog had been in 3 times, and could have been

We recently moved as well and have two cats. We've had emergencies and they've been nothing but open arms to both our pets. Angus recently gave us a scare and almost died. He was diagnosed with diabetes and had to stay at woodbine a few nights to keep an eye on him with an i.v. Everyone from Rachel the receptionist to the actual Vets and… technicians were all amazing and so sweet. They allowed us to visit Angus while he was there, they gave us a private room with him and we're more than happy to answer all of our anxious questions. They made Angus very comfortable and we felt good knowing
