Selling your home of twenty plus years is never easy, but even less so when you are elderly and going though many changes in life. Stew provided the guidance and support needed to help sell my uncle's condo with grace and dignity, and ensuring his voice was always heard in the process. He accommodated the family role in helping out my uncle and was always easy to talk to and get hold of by email.
Choosing the right neighbourhood is an important part of finding a home. If you love the house but hate the neighbours, or have the perfect kitchen but have an agonizing two-hour commute, you're never going to feel completely comfortable living there. Your best bet is to figure out if your neighbourhood is a good fit with your family before you start looking for a home there (or certainly before you put in an offer).
In business, downsizing isn't a word that anyone wants to hear, but in real estate it provides homeowners with a wealth of opportunities. Every year, millions of people are electing to purchase a property that's smaller than the one they currently own. Whether you're switching to a smaller space because the size of your family is changing, or you want a lower-maintenance home for retirement, there are plenty of upsides to downsizing.
