As a new client of our Veterinary Hospital in Thornhill, you can expect our full attention to your pet's needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
We are happy to book an appointment for you. This is not an automatic process. Once we receive your request, we will contact you to confirm a date and time that is as close to your request as possible. Came here twice for our kitten. First visit was smooth, however, we had to get a booster shot for our kitten two weeks later.
When booking our appointment, the technician informed us that we would only be charged for the vaccine with no additional charge. But after our 5 minute appointment they up charged us by three times the price and informed us there was nothing that could be done after the fact.
Would advise to have any cost break downs in writing before hand as there were no complications in the process, just hidden fees by the clinic.

Horrible and unprofessional customer service from this clinic, with zero regard for animals or their customers. The secretary cancelled my appointment when I called to say that I may be 1-2 minutes late, I was hung up on with the rest of my calls declined. This is extremely emotionally abusive when we are dealing with sick animals. Recommend going elsewhere as it seems as though they only care about their time and money.

I would highly recommend this clinic. My lovely friend coco got super sick and we chose this vet clinic to get diagnosis. Dr Cox was very nice and smart. She listened our concerns and diagnosed her correctly in a short time. She gave me and my husband update very clear and we were able to start right treatment. I am so thankful for receptionist as well. When I called her on Wednesday afternoon, she listened and booked Coco right away. Thank you so much. You guys gave Coco more time to be with us. Coco unfortunately passed away but we are very thankful for everything you guys have done to her.

?...(Amazing place)..^..^ I took a short cut on my way home and saw Smith Veterinary Hospital. I decided to do some research and it was the best decision I made for my cat Oreo. Dr. Dana Cox was amazing, she took excellent care of Oreo, was very thorough, and I am glad to report he's very well. I highly recommend Smith Veterinary Hospital. After Visiting many other vets in Toronto and looking back at this place. The staff and Vets are great and amazing people but to be honest this place overcharges everything. I got my dog neutered here and it costed us over $1500+ With him being a tiny little dog. I can recommend at least 3 better vets who are equally as caring but don't up charge everything. This place just wants your money.

Absolutely adore this place! My usual vet was too busy to take my in dog Tofu last minute and this place did not hesitate to accommodate for us. I am more than grateful for the staff and doctors who work here. You can really tell that they are passionate about what they do, by far one of the best veterinary hospitals I have been to. The doctor was very professional and took the time to explain everything that was wrong with my dog and she ensured that I was fully aware of every procedure that she performed on my dog. Doctors and staff are very polite and professional. I needed to visit a vet asap and they were able to accommodate us. Other places didn't do that - some clinics didn't even wanna talk to me once they learned I wasn't their current client.
Staff called me next day to find out how my pet is doing and if I needed anything - that was nice. Shows that they really care.

I was very surprised by the negative reviews. I've been to a large list of veterinarians over the past 20+ years, and I've had one of my best experiences here at SVH.

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
The hospital is nice and clean. The staff were super friendly and caring. You feel welcomed the moment you step into the place. My cat Wednesday loves the vet and the nurse too! Compared to my previous vet clinic, their costs were much more reasonable. Highly recommend people to bring the fur babies here ❤️

I can't speak for dog-owners, but I took my cat in for a grooming at 11am with an appointment and didn't hear anything until 3pm. When I finally called to check in, they just started to work on him (coincidentally) and I brought him back 30 minutes later.
That same evening, he started to scratch around his ears constantly to the point where he broke skin and started causing small cuts (even with nails trimmed). I contacted them immediately and they just said keep an eye on him and bring him in if it continues.
Ended up bringing

Incompetent staff - stay away! Today was the scheduled surgery for one of my dogs. Both are small dogs and from the same breed and they look very similar in appearance, except one is 25% heavier than the other, which can have a substantial impact on the amount of anesthetics to use as well as impact other decision in the operating block. When I arrived I was told everything was ready for... Kalina (the smaller dog) which is much smaller than Meeka... had I delegated the drop off to someone else from the family, or had the receptionist not said the name of the dog the clinic thought they were about

We can't say enough about this amazing Vet clinic. We having been going to Smith Veterinary Hospital since moving to Ontario more than 8 years ago and have always been blown away by their wonderful customer service and willingness to go above and beyond to serve their clients. You get a true sense of their love of animals and the staff are always helpful & supportive no matter the situation.

They are nice enough but money hungry.
Went in for just a nail trim. Was told I must get the rabies vaccination since the cat was due. I said no problem and confirmed the price for the trim and the vaccination before proceeding.
My bill ended up being $100 more than I was initially told as they decided to throw in a physical exam without my asking and without telling me. Was not needed. My cat had her last full physical 6 months prior and is only 2 and in great shape. The vet saw my cat for about 5 minutes and charged me $100 for that.
I fought it saying I never asked for a physical and they
