If you're a pet owner, you consider your dogs and cats to be a beloved part of your family. At Kensington Animal Hospital, we believe that pets deserve the same high level of health and medical care that their human family members receive. Kensington Animal Hospital offers general veterinary services for dogs and cats 7 days a week.
Based on doctor availability, emergencies and walk-ins are accepted during our regular business hours. The service here is wonderful. I never felt rushed at all; the vet and techs talked to and played with my cat, and made it seem like he was the only patient they had to see all day. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly, all my questions were answered, and even the cat had a (relatively) good time.

Services
Established in 1998, the Kensington Animal Hospital strives to provide high-quality veterinary care for pets in Burnaby, Port Moody and Vancouver. Our 4 veterinarians - Drs. Sran, Shu, Kang and Sidhu - welcome small pets in need of either general veterinarian service or more critical care. We keep a veterinarian on duty 7 days per week for emergencies.
Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come in immediately.
In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.
Blood tests are an essential part of diagnosing what is ailing your pet, just as they are in human medicine. Blood tests can tell the veterinarian a myriad of things, from whether your pet is dehydrated to whether he or she has anemia to whether your cat or dog is suffering from cancer. Red blood cells are used to determine a number of factors.
When was the last time you had your pet's teeth cleaned? According to the AVMA, pets who have never had a teeth cleaning have signs of dental disease by the time they are three years old. For that reason, Kensington Animal Hospital recommends that all pets have a yearly dental cleaning and oral examination.

I just stopped by Kensington Animal Hospital to pick up my dogs food. I have to say I am extremely impressed with this clinic staff.
There was a disgruntled "Karen" client who was giving a tongue lashing to… the amazing staff due to a common (and understandable) human error with her dogs food order. The receptionist was very professional and apologized to this rude lady, even gave this client a discount on the most expensive food to repair some good faith. This woman continued to cause a scene, yelling at the staff that they sold her bag from under her on purpose. Which is blatantly BS,

Had to bring my boy, Aiden, in to have a lump on his paw examined and eventually had to be surgically removed. Dr. Sidhu performed the surgery and did a great job. The staff here was awesome and took care of him very well even though he was a little difficult. They even called to follow up and check up on him afterwards.
Great place to bring your pets if you are in need of a vet.

They told me one price over the phone, then produced a quote at the time of the spay that was double and included a lot of extras I had said multiple times I did not need. Even without the extras, it was nearly $300 more than I was told. Even my friends with larger dogs did not pay that much. Lesson learned, get them to email the quote before you book.

This was once a five star review, however, after taking my dog in-who was acting out of the ordinary-they cost us $1000 in blood tests, x-rays, etc & told us we needed to give her a leg surgery immediately. I felt forced into doing this, and I couldn’t help but feel that the vet was trying to make me feel guilty just to get money. I got second opinion at a different vet & they advised that my dog is NOT in need of a surgery. This happened two years ago, but still bothers me to this day, and I want the word to be out there that you don’t have to take the opinion of one vet. Do not sign any papers

Thank you so much to Dr. Sidhu and the staff for taking such great care our our dog, Sesame! We had an emergency on our hands and even though they were very close to closing on Sunday, (and we had never been there before) they stayed after hours to perform a procedure. All medication and special care instructions were carefully and clearly explained, and I really appreciated the time Dr. Sidhu spent with us.

Nothing but love for Dr. Sidhu and Dr Sran. Over the past 10 years or so ( lost track) with 3 dogs and 2 cats , we have depended on their care. Rocky , our11 year old, one eyed cancer survivor ( thanks to Dr Sran administering 16 weeks of chemotherapy )and Sammy our blind, asthmatic 20 year old cat are thriving. The staff is wonderful! And we are grateful! Just not enough stars!

The two girls are the front desk are lovely and caring. The SPCA referred us here, and they are very concerned about the well-being of the dogs in their care. We were to take him from fostering him at our home to the hospital for neutering and tooth extractions, as well as ear tattoo. All went well. Unfortunately 15 stinky rotten teeth had to go, poor guy, the last owners neglected his mouth.
The girls at the desk were super sweet, called to tell us how he was doing, friendly with my kids and even saved the rotten teeth in a vial for them to check out. The chihuahua is doing much better! The

Doesn't seem genuinely interested in the health or care of animals..more so interested in pushing products and upselling.
When vet was asked questions, responses would be short and showed very little affect. We have called reception a few times to ask simple questions, most of the time phone calls are rushed and little interest is given on the other end.
Switching vets ASAP.
