In Ontario, the transfer of ownership of real property is now completed electronically through software issued to licensed and approved users. Real Estate Lawyers are one group licensed to use this software, and the only group authorized to register Deeds. As such, you need a lawyer to convey real estate in Ontario; but there are many other reasons why you would want one.

Born and raised in Petawawa, Blair welcomed the opportunity to return to his hometown to pursue his legal career. Blair completed an undergraduate honours degree at Queen's University. He then obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa Law School, graduating magna cum laude. After articling at the Ottawa firm of Rasmussen Starr Ruddy in 1995, he returned to the Pembroke area in 1995 to start in private practice.
