Born in Chelmsford Ontario in 1941, Edgar was the eldest son of Arcade and Evangeline Poulin who owned the only gas station and convenience store between Chelmsford and Sudbury. Arcade had his hand in several businesses, one of which was construction and Edgar went to work for his father at the age of 15 operating a bulldozer and dump truck. Within a few years he purchased the dozer and truck from his father and set out on his own. In 1958, Edgar moved to North Bay and founded Edgar Poulin Construction & Rentals Ltd.

All of our quarried aggregates come from our Birchs Road properties in North Bay. We have several hundred acres that have been committed to supplying product for our firm, and we're fully licensed. All of our aggregates undergo considerable testing and are approved for concrete structures for M.T.O.
We have a long list of sand types and Type I aggregate for use in everything from septic beds and mortar to contractor's backfill for footings and foundations to coarser pit run for road building. From our sand pits we also produce landscaping river rock at our North Bay quarry. We supply stone of various sizes for both practical and decorative purposes.

One of the longest running quarries in North Bay. Quality an consistency of material is unmatched. They are a full service quarry producing all grades of gravel and rock. Top soil is screened and top quality. On our build our contractor was very impressed with materials, delivery and the care and consideration of the drivers when on site. Safety seems very important to the company.
