In May of 1995, Ted & Amy left full-time jobs to fulfill their entrepreneurial dream and open Renter's Choice & Management Ltd. Both business and family experienced growth. Staff numbers increased as well, from one to three to five full-time employees. Ted branched out and opened RC Construction.
The service area of Renter's Choice stretched beyond Taber to include Burdett to the east, Wrentham to the south, Vauxhall, Nobleford and Picture Butte to the north, Barnwell, Coaldale and Lethbridge to the west.In the midst of our tragedy five lives were saved because Ted Jr. is an organ donor - heart, lungs, liver & both kidneys.

NEVER buy a home built by them. Within 2 years of buying my new home from them, the basement flooded due to improper backfilling and collapsed sewer pipe on the property. The deck slats have huge spaces inbetween where pets get their legs hurt and chair legs fall thru. The metal deck rails constantly fall off with the slightest breeze. The house was built too low - the rest of the property is higher, so the sump pump goes on very often, and the basement has flooded again due to that. The roof shingles started breaking off within 3 years - were not sealed down properly and I had to pay to get them

RC Construction built our home roughly 10 years ago now - and I really wish we had known more about home construction or had a professional with us when we had completed our final walk through.
- The deck that spans the length of our home was built before backfilling was complete, leaving a large ‘ditch’ under the deck beside our foundation. And the sump pump conveniently drained directly above this lovely ditch as well.
- Eavestroughs were not installed with any slope and in some areas, did not have any drainage whatsoever - leading to the roof of our covered porch sagging over the years
