Dr. Peter Shipka graduated from the University of Alberta prior to his attending Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier, California in 1991. Upon graduation in 1994, Dr. Shipka worked with Dr. Masahiro Yoshihashi at the Hokkaido Chiropractic Centre in Sapporo, Japan from 1995 until the fall of 1996.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Shipka has been actively involved with research and has been presenting at local and international conferences since 1998. Dr. Shipka has presented on: the management of ankle sprains, TMJ, chiropractic pre-natal care, low back pain, whiplash and frozen shoulder management.

Our clinic utilizes both traditional and bio-mechanical acupuncture approaches in order to help alleviate your musculoskeletal complaints. Traditional acupuncture uses the insertion of fine needles along meridians (natural channels in the body) to stimulate the balance and flow of Qi energy and Blood.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could, and Dr Shipka should change his name to Albus Dumbledore because he is a wizard. I have had multiple injuries, broken bones and surgeries. After years of doctors, physio, chiro, massage and acupuncture in the never-ending pursuit of relief, I was referred and challenged by a friend to give Dr Shipka shot. My friend said the movement and relief he had after 4 treatments was better than any previous encounters he had elsewhere. I took him up on that challenge and am happy to say he was right. Going to see Dr. Shipka has been the best thing for me. I’ve had 3 kids back to back in the last 4 years and my body has taken its toll as I’m getting older also. I had to start wearing a knee brace for stability and support and after just 2 visits I’ve stopped wearing it! Getting acupuncture and targeting the areas that are needed has helped me so much. It honestly feels like a mini spa day when I go for my appt. I get acupuncture, cupping, and adjustment, tens machine with heat and a mini massage. I leave feeling relaxed and loosened up.

I was in an accident in another province and recently had to move back to Alberta. I was having an incredibly hard time transferring provinces while still receiving coverage until I entered Dr. Peter Shipka's clinic. Dr. Shipka is so thorough with all of his processes and doesn't leave any details to question. Due to his tremendous efforts, I was able to get coverage as well as being included in the recovery process and know how far I've been able to recover - even just from the initial appointment. My initial assessment was very thorough and Dr. Shipka explained what he would be doing so I was able to get a better understanding of the actual treatment and the reasoning behind it. Mobility of my neck was improved a great deal as well as the tension in neck/shoulder area. I was very happy with the fact that he wasn't aggressive with manipulation and gave me some exercises to help as well. Look forward to continuing therapy with him! Would highly recommend him.

I have been suffering from debilitating TMJ tension headaches that were misdiagnosed as migraines for several years. After seeing several awful chiropractors, neurologists, and other specialists, I booked acupuncture with Dr. Shipka out of desperation and he immediately knew what was happening. He took a slow and methodical approach, asking me tons of different questions in detail, and gave me a realistic timeline of treatment (not promising me the world like some other practitioners I've dealt with). I had my first visit with Dr Shipka and man, I wish I've met him earlier. I had my shoulder pain for over 2 years now. Medications after medications, it was still hard to move. But 1 visit with Dr Shipka, my shoulder outs back almost 100%. Dr Shipka is very knowledgeable and it's like he can perform some miracles. Very nice staff, excellent service, I'll come back again. Highly recommended.

Dr. Shipka is extremely thorough. I visited him due to shoulder and hip pain. He only worked on my shoulder due to time constraints, but spent the better part of an hour diagnosing and treating it. It felt way better and we have a plan for continued care. Looking forward to long term flexibility and strength improvements.
