Mr. James S. Johnston, Merchant, began a business in Barrie dealing in coal, wood, cements and building supplies. Sixteen year old Walter Sarjeant went to work with Mr. Johnston and, after a few years learning the business, entered into a partnership forming "Johnston and Sarjeant" in 1889. Walter Sarjeant entered into a business partnership with his employer of 18 years, James S. Johnson, together they formed the Sarjeant Company.
When Mr. Johnston retired in 1903 the partnership dissolved but Samuel Sarjeant (who had joined the company in 1890), together with his brother Walter, began a business called the Sarjeant Company of Barrie. In 1903 a new partnership was formed in Orillia with the retirement of Mr. Sanderson who was in a similar type of business.

Just finished a new House Build. I contracted Sarjeants to complete the Duct install, Furnace, and air Conditioner. Everything was completed in a professional manner, and significantly cheaper than the other Quotes I had obtained. Also, the furnace and air Conditioner are Trane Models which is a step above what most Companies are installing today.
Would Highly recommend them.

Edit: I was contacted by the fuel manager who was very kind and understanding and worked with us to find a solution. So thank you for reaching out! I appreciate it.
I'm on auto delivery for home heating propane, meaning my tanks are supposed to be monitored and kept full. Over the last two winters I've had my tanks run to empty twice. Each time happened on a weekend, leaving me with no heat or stove to cook meals. The first time I was told I'd be charged around $200 for an after hours delivery (which eventually I was not). This time the customer service people were nicer, but not super helpful
