Please check back for updates as we hope to provide your pet with exceptional veterinary care in the future. Our purpose is to provide the highest quality veterinary care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. We know that the cats and dogs brought to our hospital are, in a very real sense, members of your family.
Our hospital is accredited by both the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). AAHA membership is voluntary and requires that we meet and maintain the highest standards in all aspects of veterinary care. Only a small percentage of veterinary hospitals in North America achieve AAHA accreditation.

Services
To help ensure your pet's safety during surgery we use the safest anesthetic agents available. A technician continually monitors your pet's vital functions, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen level, throughout the procedure and during recovery. Because safety is our primary concern, our surgical suite and laboratory are equipped with the diagnostic instruments necessary to carefully monitor your pet.
The hospital has been providing veterinary care to the White Rock and South Surrey area since we opened in 1959. The White Rock Veterinary Hospital was founded by Dr. Donald McDonald in 1959. The original hospital was located at the corner of Johnston Road and Buena Vista Avenue. It was moved to its present location two years later.
Our Registered Animal Health Technologists are college graduates who are trained paraprofessionals in the field of veterinary medicine. They can be compared to a nurse, paramedic, medical laboratory technologist, anesthesiologist, radiology technologist, and medical receptionist. Our RAHT's are skilled in all of these areas which enhance patient care and the human-animal bond.
Our veterinary assistants are entrusted with the special hands-on care of your pet while they are at our hospital. Your pet's comfort is their number one priority and includes keeping them comfortable, taking them for bathroom and fresh air walks, and tending to their food and water needs. Our assistants also help the veterinarians and technicians with diagnostic testing and treatments and are a key part of the health care team at our hospital.
Our receptionists are the organizational backbone of our hospital. Apart from keeping things running smoothly and maintaining our vast medical record system, they are the voices you hear on the telephone and the smiling faces that first welcome you when you enter our hospital. Her hard work and dedication to the hospital has landed her the role of supervisor at the reception desk.

We see Dr. Wood as our primary vet. We find him to be thoughtful, kind, and thorough but not pushing us into care we don't want. Our sweet pup was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect at 6 months. She has lived beyond all expectations and Dr. Wood is guiding us through medical management. Will continue to go here in future for all our pets.

Dr. Ruth Kennedy has been the vet for my family for over 24 years, & I cannot say high enough praises. Dr. Kennedy & staff are unbelievably kind & dedicated to your fur babies. She is never rough, you will never have your animal mishandled here. I never want to go to any other vet.
I'm also PWD & on government funding & Kennedy has been so wonderful in letting me make small payments when I cannot pay the whole bill upfront, so I never have to worry if I can afford emergencies or regular check ups. My animals is her priority.
A long time ago she made a house call to put down our old dog so we
