Design-Build is a project delivery method in which both the design and construction are contracted to a single entity, Maaten Construction. This means we take responsibility for not only construction and project management, but also tackle the architectural and engineering needs of the project. This method provides delivery of an optimal building solution while streamlining the building process and permits value engineering.
General Contracting is a more traditional project delivery method that involves a bidding process by several general contractors resulting in a lump sum contract. The contract is based on drawings and specifications that are prepared by independent architectural and engineering firms; who each have their own separate contracts with the Owner.
As the Project Manager, we represent the building owner's interests using management techniques to coordinate all on-site activity throughout the construction process. We ensure the cooperation among all parties and that the project is completed on time and within budget. It is also our job to oversee all material and equipment needs, as well as review and approve the builder and subcontractor invoices.
