Services
Thank you for your acupuncture services, which has completely resolved two bouts of what has appeared to be a case of ulcerative colitis. You've convinced me, one of the most skeptical people of the benefits of acupuncture. As a health care professional myself, searching for alternative methods to prevent the clenching of my jaw is very important.
Whether you're suffering from a medical problem like PMS, TMJ, MS or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, want to conquer an addiction, stress or anxiety - or simply lose that excess weight, we can help! More than merely a system of pain management, we use acupuncture to treat a wide variety of conditions and syndromes.
Our Calgary downtown core physiotherapy and acupuncture clinic, believes that just treating the body is not enough. We recognize that whatever your injury or condition, it is likely affecting your quality of life on many levels. Our goal is to help you recover so you can regain your quality of life, and we will tailor your rehabilitation treatment program to facilitate that goal.
Vestibular rehabilitation focuses on people who have treatable dizziness and balance problems. Each person is affected differently by dizziness and balance problems but people with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) can be treated very effectively by someone such as Gord Dewar. The aim of the treatment is to reposition particles or otoliths trapped in the semicircular canals in the inner ear causing the dizziness.
Orthotics can help you. There is a growing awareness and understanding of how our feet affect our whole skeletal frame. The structure of our feet supports our entire weight. How we walk and how our bones are proportioned can affect our knees, spine, and all other parts of our body. Faulty foot mechanics can result in localized foot pain, bunions, hammer toes, arch or heel pain, leg or knee pain, hip and back pain, and even neck pain.

After what I thought was a minor wrist injury from lifting, the pain dragged on for months. I struggled to open doors, type on a keyboard or other basic things. I was lucky enough be referred to Gord by a close friend. He was able to take some fo the pain away immediately and after several weeks my wrist is finally back to normal. I have full range of motion and no pain when working out. Highly recommend!

Saw Gord for a thoracic nerve impingement. He assessed me thoroughly, diagnosed the problem, immediately started treatments which included home stretching/exercises and in-clinic treatments. Throughout the time he was a pleasure to talk to, provided me constant updates on my progress and trajectory, and advanced my home exercises as was appropriate for my progress. It was easy to get in for urgent appointments when issues arose, and he was happy to tell me when I didn't need to come back for more treatments.
I have subsequently referred friends and patients to this clinic.

I am an ex-national team endurance athlete. After retirement I had a lower back issue that had been irritating me. Over the years two family doctors, two MRI's, referral to orthopedic surgeon, referral to a back specialist and all did not have a solution or that I just had to live with it.
I decided to try physio again and Gord took me on. After a couple of weeks my back is so much better and finally functioning normally again. I can't say enough about his efforts - go to Gord.

Gord and his team are amazing. The front staff were warm and welcoming. Gord took the time to actively involve me in my healing. He explained all the exercises that needed to be done and did a great job in fixing my back and shoulders and addressing my healing process. His treatment plan was great, he even accommodated me to include migrane treatments even though I did not include migrane issues in my initial assessment. I truly appreciated this as his knowledge in acupuncture is magical. I have yet to experience migraines again and It has been 5 months since his last treatment for migraines. Very
