Cool Smiles Children's Dentistry

We have had an incredible time at Cool Smiles! Both of my girls absolutely love going to the dentist (.....!), the staff are very welcoming, accommodating, attentive and friendly. We have been going for about 3 years now and I have nothing but great things to say! We also opted for the orthodontist as well, and they took their time to explain everything well. I think my only complaint would be regarding the orthodontist (Dr. Ward) and his lack of building rapport with my 9 year old. He completed the treatment on her teeth well and I am extremely happy with the results, but he had no interest in speaking to her, never asked her about her day or how she feels about her braces. In 1.5 years, he never spoke to her once which I find very off-putting. While I understand that small talk isn't a major portion of their job title and responsibility, the population he is working with can be very sensitive and a brief conversation could go a long way. Aside from that, I would recommend this office to anyone!

The assistants were great and very friendly. We didn’t have to wait long, and everything was done efficiently without taking more time than needed. The consultation and exam were quick, so we were in and out without any delays.

We had a dental emergency and decided to visit Cool Smiles. Initially, I was hesitant because of some previous reviews, but our experience turned out to be excellent. Dr. Rob (I can’t recall her first name) and her assistant Elaine made my daughter feel so comfortable. The front desk staff were also fantastic—friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return for routine check-ups and will be requesting Dr. Rob specifically.

Best dentist office around! My kids love going here. I appreciate that hygienists always talk TO my children and explain each step of a procedure in a way they can understand. Front desk staff are friendly and have accommodated us for back to back appointments as we live an hour outside of Red Deer.

I am also very impressed by the cleanliness! Even with all the animal figures, fake trees etc, everything is thoroughly cleaned and dust free!

And of course, my kids love to use the tokens to gets some prizes!

Would highly recommend

Our son had a couple cavities starting on the back bottom two molars. He was excited to attend, the dental hygienist was super sweet and the pedodontist was supper good and fast and kept him calm. When he was finished he was happy the “sugar bugs” couldn’t dig deeper holes into his teeth and when asked if he felt any pain, advises he did not.

Supper good and the place you want to take your kids if you live anywhere close in central Alberta.

10/10 would recommend for young kids!

My daughter went for an exam this week. She’s usually not fond of doctors but she loved her experience. She said everyone was really nice and that all the games/ decorations made it fun. Glad there is a place so dedicated to children’s dental experiences. 100% recommend.

The staff are so kind and gentle and patient. Options are explained very well and care for the patient is evident! It’s a wonderful, stress and fear free environment for my 6 year old.

This was by far the best dental visit I have experienced with any of my children In 22 years. Dr Doug is amazing, and the staff was so helpful and caring. I can’t recommend this place enough!

They are professional and great with children. covid safety measures in place. My granddaughter loves going there! She had a tooth pulled and didn’t feel a thing!

Love all the staff, but......... We left without being seen for our last appointment because we sat in a room for 45 minutes being told it should just be a few more minutes. Then we were told the dentist had been running behind all morning. I would have preferred to have been called and rescheduled instead of wasting my time waiting.

Get a second opinion. Pulled my sons tooth when not necessary. The only thing good about this place is the hygienists and front staff.

I’ve been bringing my kiddos here since they opened. From the front staff, dental hygienists, to the dentists, it’s a five star experience from start to finish! Thanks for keeping my boys teeth healthy and creating a positive dental experience!

Great dentists but I think that if both parents have a benefit plan and they still need to pay afterwards thats getting to be a little too much!
