When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted by one of our friendly reception staff who will check you into our database and weigh your pet. With recent changes to restrictions on businesses, we have made some important updates to our operating policies. This includes vaccines, wellness exams, blood work, spays and neuters, dental services, and more! Our doors are now open and we are allowing a maximum of 6 clients in the reception area at a time.
For after-hours emergencies, please contact Veterinary Speciality Centre by calling 709.221.7838. They are located at 860 Topsail Rd in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Note: If your pet is a senior or sick, we recommend requesting an email copy of your pet's medical records in case of an emergency after hours.

Sunrise Animal Hospital has been caring for cherished animals in Mount Pearl, NL and surrounding communities since the 1980s. Dr. Sanjay Ralhan joined the company in 1990 and in 1995 he formed a partnership with Dr. DeZeeuw. The original location of our practice was at 1 Sunrise Avenue in Mount Pearl, NL.

Nelson has been with Sunrise since he was 9wks old. He had his first visit with them. From the very beginning they shown love, kindness and great care for him and now he is 4yrs old and still has the same treatment and always there for questions you have or any concerns. Dr Ryan shows great care and compassion for Nelson and gives me the best advice of his care. I truly trust her her judgment and can say that Nelson is in awesome hands with her care. Nelson says Thank you!!!

I brought my cat Muffin into the animal hospital and there was someone there to take her immediately.....no waiting at all. The vet called me with her thoughts after she looked at Muffin and discussed them with me. I felt very comfortable leaving my cat with them and also with their diagnosis for her. Thank you!

Where do I even begin. I attended Sunrise Animal Hospital due to my 1 year old Boxer having an ear and Skin infection. My own Vet could not get me in for over 2 months. Sunrise accomodated me immediately. Very professional, and truly interested in my Dogter getting the best treatment. Within two days of treatment, my Boxer's symtoms totally gone. As well, to my surprise, Sunrise called me to see how the treatment was going. I am so glad I stopped in and very thankful for their looking out for the well being of our family pet.

Excellent experience. A very busy clinic, yet I walked in and promptly was brought to a private room. The care and passion they feel for the animals was keenly evident. I really liked that I stayed in the room and the staff brought everything to me, rather than dancing around other clients in the waiting room.This is the vet for my menagerie of small pets! Thank you Sunrise Animal Staff. Please keep up the great work.

My GSD was cut while running with some pocketing under the skin, and needed sutures in a hurry. My usual vet, and several others were full and not taking emergency cases, but Sunrise graciously allowed me to drop her off so they could attend to her between their regular appointments. Dr. Kreutzer also called me after her exam to discuss options to consider as treatment which I'm grateful for. They are very compassionate, which I'm sure an animal in distress keys in on during a stressful episode, so much so that my pup was very comfortable and calm during her visit although we've never been there

I have been taking my dogs to Sunrise for 14 years. Two of my dogs had serious and complicated medical needs and the staff treated them with exceptional care throughout their lives - and were extremely supportive, empathetic, and kind to us. We still have one dog and the great treatment and support continues. Dr. Ryan, Andrea, and all of the staff at Sunrise are fantastic!

Sunrise animal hospital isn’t my vet of choice anymore unfortunately. I went there for many years with many pets and have noticed a complete lack of compassion on two occasions. Some of the staff are great but then others are there “just for a job.” I have noticed this decline now for a few years which is very sad because animals should be treated with promptness, respect and dignity, to which three of my animals were not treated with dignity, but just a cat or dog. I’m sorry to have to write this negative review, however, it’s reality and we won’t be returning

Sunrise vets and techs are always so friendly understanding and welcoming . I have all my pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) there . My puppy had a fish hook and I brought her over and they looked at her right away ! Thank you so much . If your looking for great and compassionate people to take care of your babies this is the place to go

I had an amazing experience at Sunrise Animal Hospital! I bring my pets there all the time and the staff is so considerate and helpful! I am so thankful that I live so close to such a wonderful animal hospital. My pets mean a lot to me and I wouldn't trust them in the care of anyone other than the staff at Sunrise.
