The Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences (KCCIHS), formerly the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS), is a well-established school now in its 20th year of (PTIB) accreditation (Private Training Institutes Branch). This standing means that our programs, instructors, and facilities are all government approved and regulated and that our students are eligible for student loans.

Services
The Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences was founded in 1996 and for many years was located in The Jam Factory on Vernon Street. In 2000 the Academy received the rare distinction of being granted unconditional accreditation by the Private Post Secondary Education Commission (now known as Private Career Training Institution Agency - "PCTIA").
The college is located in the center of Nelson, BC and operates as a campus with three locations. At 560 Baker Street, the historic Burns building of 1899 is well known for its pleasing architectural features. The Burns building houses our administration offices, the library, and year 1-3 classrooms.
The community of Nelson reflects the values of Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences like no other in the Pacific Northwest. Located on the edge of Kootenay Lake surrounded by mountains, it's the ideal physical location to study in a framework of harmony. Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences invite talented and enthusiastic instructors, supervisors and support staff to join our school community. RMT teachers must be BC Registered, be in good standing with CMTBC and have a minimum 2500 hrs of experience in massage therapy or have other relevant qualifications related to the teaching subject.
Nelson offers plentiful outdoor recreational opportunities, and I met some of my closest friends to this day in its close-knit community. Be prepared to work hard and really integrate your life with the ideals of the program, but also seek a life outside of the school and truly experience all that Nelson has to offer.
