Himalaya Salt Cave
We have reduced our hours and the capacity of the salt cave. All guests must confirm they have had not been out of the country or experienced cough, fever, or symptoms of any illness in the last 2 weeks. We are open 7 days/week BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are excited to see you! We also have a special new offering for anyone who prefers not to be in a communal session.

Private Groups up to 6 people for $100. Come relax in a cave made of 12,000 pounds of Himalayan salt. Each session combines halotherapy (dry salt therapy) and sound therapy for a healing retreat for the body, mind and spirit. Since the 1800s, man-made salt caves have been built to replicate the environment in the natural salt mines, where people experience health benefits from breathing the salty air.
Services
The tiny particles of salt clear phlegm and mucus from the airways. Salt is anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory. Salt therapy is great for respiratory health, inflammation, skin, sleep, stress, mood and detox. Salt therapy is a natural therapy for overall wellness, relaxation and detox.
Laura worked as an RMT for five years with physiotherapists specializing in athletes/sports injuries, whiplash/headaches and pelvic floor. She is dedicated to continuing education in healing chronic and systemic issues in the body, mind and energy. Treatments incorporate a combination of light to deep tissue massage, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, craniosacral, visceral (organ tissue) release, depending on your needs.
Sound (like salt!) is one of the oldest medicines. Used by early cultures worldwide, like Tibetan Monks, Egyptians, Hindu, and North American Indigenous Cultures. We are all made of frequency. The vibrations of sound affect the physical and energetic body. Modern research is growing about the health benefits of sound for brain and body health.
Massage is available at the Himalaya Salt Cave in Nelson, BC. We have various types of massage with different benefits. We offer unique spa treatments on the heated Amethyst BioMat or in the salt cave with salt therapy. Choose your experience! Couples Massages take place in the salt cave. Friends or couples welcome!
Reiki is a deeply relaxing and restorative treatment for health and wellness. Balances the energy centres (Chakras), clears energy that is not our own, unblocks stuck energy. Allows energy to flow to where it is needed, and allows the inner wisdom to heal the body, mind and spirit. Reiki is great for sleep, mood, stress, emotions, headaches, chronic pain, connecting to yourself, your truth and intuition.

The salt cave is an incredible oasis. Receiving a massage in it is heavenly. Love what Laura has created here. So worth checking out at least once - I promise you'll be back! A nice reprieve from the smoke, clarifying, and very supportive for allergies. I always leave feeling like my sinuses are totally clear and I can breathe fully again. Laura as a practitioner is highly intuitive and checks in and responds so well to adaptations to the massage. She excels at meeting the needs of her clients. Thank you so much!

I had a wonderful massage in the salt cave last week and felt so incredibly refreshed afterward. I was breathing better, more energized and relaxed. Usually after a massage I experience more "detox" and integration but the salt seemed to do that for me. Not to mention that the massage itself was absolutely amazing!! I am going to make this a new routine in my life!

Gorgeous location and lovely people. I had an awesome session from Sequoia and I learned about the benefits of Halotherapy (salt vapor therapy) which sounds like it can be extremely effective for respiratory issues. I look forward to going back and trying the salt cave and I am grateful we have the service as part of our community, especially when fire season arrives!

The salt cave is a lovely place for mediation. It is so relaxing. Within the physical space, the lighting is warm; sounds, soft. Every time I come out of a meditation I feel relaxed, centred and rejuvenated. I also notice that it helps a lot with my asthma, as salt helps to purify the airways.
The owner Lauren is also a gifted facilitator. I have attended some guided mediations and sound healing journeys with her and her voice and stories always lead me to a place of divine healing, happiness and peace. So thankful for this place and what she offers. Highly recommended.

Honestly, I didn't really believe Laura when she told me the incredible benefits of salt. But I have experienced such shift on so many levels. I now recommend it to everyone! .
Visiting the cave once in a while is lovely, but I started to notice a huge shift once I started going 3 times a week. I realized last week it was winter season and normally at this time I can't breathe through my nose. And for the first time in years my sinuses were clear.
I also found that my immune system is just so much stronger. If I feel I'm coming down with something I just head to the cave. I also find the salt

Laura was my massage therapist back when she lived in Ottawa.
She always found the areas that needed attention most. She creates a great energy in the room and is trained in many styles. Nelson is very lucky to have her.
The Cave looks amazing.
I can't wait to visit. Sound healing is something I would like to try.
