Services
We strive to improve the lives of those who have been through traumatic events and have been left with neurological impairments. This also includes vestibular disorders, concussions, pain conditions, some chronic physical conditions, as well as some mental health conditions. We treat clients on a 1:1 basis.
Neurological physiotherapy is based on a problem solving approach comprising of a continuous mix of hands on assessment and treatment. Hands on facilitation of muscle activity is based on assessing what is going on at the peripheral level and understanding what that means on a central level and then using our hands to create change in both the peripheral and central nervous systems.
Rehabilitation Assistants help with home and community based programs created by your physiotherapist. They are trained and qualified therapists in their discipline but work under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Rehabilitation Assistants have a unique set of skills to help you with exercises and movement both in your home and in the community.
Kinesiology applies the science of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology and neuroscience to human movement and function. They help individuals reach their fitness goals and potential with personalized programs. Individuals with central nervous system impairments who participate in regular strength training, stretching, and cardiovascular fitness have been shown to achieve greater gains faster.
There are several types of vestibular conditions ranging from vertigo to general imbalance and dizziness. Your therapist will use specific tests as well as getting a comprehensive history to determine the cause of your symptoms and then use hands-on techniques and individualized home programs to help relieve you of your symptoms and help you get back to your normal life.
