I've got my hair done recently with Gem and her work is amazing. She makes sure you get your dream hair goals. I was very hesitant at first going full blonde because I knew how much bleach can damage hair but she convinced me with her work. She puts her time and professionalism into it, even after you leave the salon she makes sure your hair is still taken care of with the right hair products. She is worth all the $$ you spend.

I went in last minute for hair coloring, I was their last customer of the night but they were still very friendly and patient. Irena was really sweet and took the time to help me pick the right color without making me feel rushed. She did an amazing job, I'm very happy with the way it turned out! Would definitely recommend this salon!

Irena is a professional hairdresser at The Cut Above. I walked in a couple years ago and she gave me an excellent hair cut and style. She can transform your hair the way you like and make you look amazing! I have been going to her for more than 3 years now. Irena is very professional and very nice. This girl knows what she’s doing! I have a thick and curvy hair, arranged to make a permanent straightening and also hair cut. Maha been introduced to become my hair stylist, she asked for what I wish to do and give me choice of two types of permanent straightening which it's keratin or Japanese which is the most straight hair method. So I told her I would like to do the Japanese method because I want a perfect straight hair. However when it done, I only realized she have done the keratin type instead of the Japan method. So I have no choice to just go back and wait for 3 days and have the first time hair wash to see the result

I went there with my kid for a cut. Called ahead and got a quote of $25 for shoulder length hair for my girl. Then made an appointment. The whole hair cut including wash and blow dry took 13 minutes. I asked if there was a wash after the cut and they said no.
Then when it came to paying , it was $30. Asked the lady why the price changed as I was told on the phone it was $25.
The lady insisted that it was $30. The lady did not further verify what i said or inquire.

Very unhappy with this salon...and its sad because ive been going here for years. They are extremely unprofessional...always grumpy and constantly talking bad about eachother (the stylists)...like we need to hear that. I got my hair done recently and I felt very bullied by my stylist who I will never go to again. I was very disappointed with my… hair, felt wayyyyy overcharged took me for every penny...I tried to contact my hairdresser the next day... left 3 messages with my concerns and heard NOTHING back....after 20 years of being her client...unhappy is an understatement! Now I'm paying

It was my birthday and I wanted to take me and my sister to get a blow out near by. Prior to booking the appointment, I had asked the receptionist that she was sure to book us with stylists who were experienced in dealing with hair at least 30". She assured me we were. They booked me with George and my sister with another blonde stylist. As soon as… I was walked over to Georges station, he didn't even greet or say anything he just had a sour look on his face. I had asked him to do a blow dry with the brushes left in, because I wanted lots of volume and I wanted it to last a few days. He

The Cut Above always has a place for last minute appointments and what I love best about the salon is its . Sumi was my hairdresser and I liked how patient and thorough she was while cutting my hair. Also, I liked the overall look of the salon, it is clean and has modern decor. Things that could be improved are the staff's attentiveness and customer service, I feel that I want to be focused on as a customer and given priority and enough time/attention.

Thought I'd make a review about an experience I had couple months ago because considering I went to Tonyc yesterday and had way better service than The Cut Above even though apparently they're the same company...it just makes no sense....

I went to the salon as a drop-in and they took me right away. Everyone was pleasant and my hair cut was awesome!! I can't remember the last time I was this happy with my hair. And I had the best blow dry ever I have received TONNES of compliments on my hair over the past few days. I want to go back there for colour given some of the great reviews I've been reading!

I have been going to The Cut Above for about 15 years now and have been very impressed with everyone who works there. I used to go to a person named Anna when I first started. When my sister got married 14 years ago, Anna was not available to assist so I was given to Jessica. She was fantastic and I got many compliments for my hairstyle. I then went to a stylist named Nelly (after Anna went on mat leave and did not return) she was also fantastic but she also went on mat leave and did not return. I was finally given back to Jessica and it has been fantastic. She knows exactly what I want done and

I love The Cut Above. The people are always so friendly and I love the atmosphere. Maria has been looking after my hair for over 10 years. She always does an excellent job. Even though I have moved away from the area. ( a three hour drive) I do get down a few times a year and I always make appointments to see Maria about every six months. Whether it is a colouring or just a cut, she always makes me look and feel great! I really have a hard time trusting just anyone with my hair. Thanks Maria!!

Jessica at The Cut Above is AMAZING!. I absolutely love how Jess has a unique relationship with each of her clients. I have never found a hair dresser that could give me exactly what I wanted each and every time. I walk out of this salon feeling like a million bucks. top notch treatment....and she truly is a superstar!!! From cut, color, extensions, blow out, brazillian. She has been the answer to everything!!!!!!
After leaving I couldn't stop looking at myself in the reflections and as soon as I was safely in my car.. I cried because it had been years since I had felt so beautiful

I've always been skeptical about hair salons in malls, but The Cut Above at Promenade Mall has quite grown on me. I actually LOVE it!

Vivian is quite simply the best. I'm not the most loyal of clients when it comes to having my hair did. However, after a few bad experiences, I found myself coming back to Vivian whom I had fond memories of. She possess all the good traits of a stylist. She's a good listener, gives you a play by play of what she's doing and is quite skillful with scissors. Above all, she gives you her undivided attention throughout the job regardless of big money clients coming through the door.

I go to April at the Cut Above in the Promenade for all my waxing needs! She is amazing and super reasonably priced. Since moving here I've tried numerous other places and the wax grows out too soon after its done. April's always lasts with me for a good while. It isn't the most painless, but she is as gentle as can be in order to ensure the hair doesn't grow back too quickly.
