Pursuant to the Family Law Act, the parents of a child are the guardians of a child. Only a guardian can exercise parenting time and parenting responsibilities. However, a person who is not a guardian may have contact with a child, for example, grandparents and other extended family. Removal of a child by Social Services can result in Child Protection Hearings where we will represent you.
We made sure that our client received a favourable division of a family business, family home and other assets through a separation agreement. Our client shared a property with their spouse. We successfully proved that the increase in the value of the property should be shared equally. The former spouse applied for cancellation of spousal support based on a change in circumstances.
