Practiced with a local Langley firm for several years, focusing on all areas of family law. Martha Metzner opened her own law firm, Martha D, Metzner Law Corporation, in the summer of 2009. Relocated in 2003 to Langley from West Vancouver, where she had raised her family of three children. Prior to raising her children, was a successful realtor, and a consistent top producer in residential sales in the Kerrisdale Shaughnessy area of Vancouver.
Initially entered the legal profession as a secretary and went on to obtain her Paralegal certification at Capilano University in 1991. Born and raised in North Vancouver and now living in Maple Ridge. After taking time to raise her family and work part time in animal health care, Nancy has recently re-entered the legal profession to pursue her ongoing interest in family law.

When I first became a client of Metzner Law I worked with Cole Caljoux who was very empathetic and kind. He was quick to respond, ethical in his practice and worked hard for me and my case. It wasn’t until later that I worked more closely with Martha Metzner and she was fantastic. She knows her stuff and is strategic in her approach. She keeps you focused and is ethical in her practice. She is professional and challenges you on your thinking from a legal perspective. She stays focused on the children and evidence. I would suggest not to look at these reviews. When a lawyer's office claims she has experience in certain areas and you find out otherwise when you meet, that is called misleading. When they charge you for the consultation before you meet the lawyer, that is called no confidence in their abilities. Finally, when the lawyer stereotype you based on your ethnicity then that lawyer should not be practicing. Unfortunately that lawyer is Ms. Metzner.

I came to Martha D Metzer Law Corporation during one of the most difficult times in my life. I needed a lawyer that could help with a very long-standing and highly volatile family violence case with many complex issues. My life and my child's life changed for the better, when I met Cole Cajouw. Although I had limited funds, he didn't turn me away. I was elated when I learned that Cole offered unbundling services, where I could pay for the work performed as opposed to paying out a full retainer fee, money which I did not have at the time. I know Guardian Angels helped me find my way to Martha's law firm and in particular, Monica Rudd, J.D. Associate. I needed to go through a divorce and I was a complete mess. She is expensive but will get the job done. Had an open-ended clause in my separation agreement (done 3 years ago) which can now be closed-off with a simple general release document. Wanted a quick estimate of what it would cost (I don't mind paying) but not an exorbitant amount. "you need to make an appointment to consult with her regarding your request" charged at her exorbitant hourly rate then I will get a quote of what a one page document would cost....not impressed!
