Absolutely amazing hotel. It is on the cheaper side, however you get what you pay for, what you pay for here is a lovely and peaceful stay right in the center of Jasper. You'll be a really short walk away from all the shops, every restaurant and even the pool. The restaurant at the Hotel, O'Shaes has delicious food and so many menu choices. There is also a bar at the Hotel, it is sometimes closed do to restrictions. Overall amazing place to stay in Jasper, super convenient and extremely friendly staff. 5 stars.

Historical hotel, super clean, amazing atmosphere of old hotel very good people and management. I see negative comments and i don't understand this people. Yes there no elevator, yes there hunting style lobby, yes there not super big rooms. But this is all point of the experience to have something different , from our room it was beautiful view on mountings, close to amenities, cheapest liquer store in hole town located in the same building in hotel, comfortable bad.
If you looking for parking its behind the building literately one step from backdoor of hotel. If you tired of standard hotel try

Absolutely love this hotel, it's charm and comfort, and the very helpful reception staff. My guide book suggested going in just to have a look, but its definitely worth staying. It is probably the most central hotel, with very reasonable prices (the rooms with no bathroom are a bargain), great breakfasts, good coffee... plus two (quiet) bars open in the evenings. The hotel is situated 2minutes from the train station, and they offered to keep my luggage for the 5days I was away in Prince Rupert.
Very nice stay, and Jasper was much nicer than Banff, with helpful folk, delicious restaurants and good

My stay was wonderful- not sure why there’s so many whiny complaints. You get what you pay for. Obviously this hotel is not a 5 star, but it has all the basic necessities for a good price. Our room was clean, our beds were clean, the bathroom was spotless (and newly renovated), the parking was free, and the staff were especially helpful. This place had gotten a serious makeover from when the first reviews were posted. The location was also in a great and convenient location in Jasper. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking to stay overnight in Jasper.

The hotel is very retro and cool. Front desk was awesome and got me checked in early. Bed comfortable.
While it's nice to have budget options in Jasper, unfortunately the kind of people who were drawn to the low price are also the kind of people who can't handle sharing facilities or being considerate of others. This is not the hotel's fault.
If you're staying during a weekend, be prepared to have people up all night slamming doors while going to the bathroom down the hall. Then forgetting their key and pounding on doors to get back in their room...etc. In the morning I actually had to walk down

Such a fun place to stay! Located in downtown Jasper and walking distance to the main streets. There's free parking behind the hotel in the alleyway or in the parking lot on the side of it after 5pm until 9am the next morning. The decor of the hotel was very boutique ish and borderline haunted house feeling but the rooms were clean and the tub had an amazing shower head! They have a restaurant and 2 bars downstairs. The bar by the stairs with the pool table does something called "off sales" where you can purchase alcohol for to-go! We ended up going there one night to grab beers

Overall an ok experience, considering we kind of knew what to expect from this place after reading the reviews. We only stayed 1 night and for this reason we decided not to search for something more comfortable (and pricey). Here are my notes about the twin room: Tight bathtub without lighting (bathroom light is very dim and only lights up the sink area). Very old building, furniture and structure, but honestly very clean. No mini fridge, which is a super downer if you’re staying longer. No AC, only a weak fan, luckily it’s end of summer and the nights are chilly and nice. Lots of parking in

Very tiny old rooms with very tiny beds. tiny bathroom with problems. asked about parking when checking in, front desk told me there's free parking. but all the tiny parking areas were full. asked them again and was told could park on the streets. found a spot far away from the hotel and walked back in the rain. no AC. bad smell. fortunately only one night there for me.

This is our second time staying here. Really enjoy staying in the older well maintained accommodations.
Beware, that there are rooms that share washroom facilities or a few rooms with a private bath.
Also no elevator, but that should be no problem since you have spent all day hiking or walking around town.
Parking can be an issue. Our room had no air conditioning (such a first world problem) but evenings were cool enough in August for a comfortable sleep.

I stay 100 hotel nights per year, and I've never had an experience quite as awful as this one. The hotel is old, dated, and it's obvious no one cares. But get this: the manager came to my room and threatened to kick me and my family out because I called down asking for an extension cord.
First, there are no plugs by the bed. There is one extension that has a two-print plug, so I called down asking for a three-prong extension or "power strip". I was told by the front desk agent that in her three years, no one has needed a three-prong plug with a ground. I informed her it&apos

We had to stay here as all other hotels were booked solid. No AC in the rooms - very, very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in. A queen bed was promised, but a full size bed was given. Shared bathrooms - no soap or paper towels/hand dryers in the bathrooms, which is pretty unsanitary. We woke up more tired than when we arrived here.

Tired and run down. Server was grumpy. I ordered a rare NY Strip steak and got a medium well piece of prime rib. When I complained my server said she would give me my strip or did I want to keep working on what I had. I had taken one bite . The steak I ended up with was a thin piece of Ribeye. I just gave up. I would not go back. So over pried, poor service and no ambiance. Bathroom was dirty with broken tiles where someone punched the wall. Give it a miss.

The hotel was in the best location it could possibly be and was in the middle of town. It was a little bit scary when my family and I first walked in but the old fashioned room did serve its purpose. (Although a bit pricey for the way it served it.) The problem I had was that if you didn't book a suite, it would be like paying resort prices for a hostel. I went to tripadvisor and read about an unfortunate family who booked one of the cheaper rooms and had to share the hotels only bathroom with other travelers. There is also a nightclub at the bottom and it gets very noisy. Book smart when

I generally don't write any reviews, but I had to write one as this place is lacking any review. I will never ever go back to this place again even if I starve. Food came out really cold after we waited for an hour. When we complained nothing was done about it. Heavily understaffed one of the worst places I have dined at.

The hubs and I didn't actually stay at the hotel overnight, but rather went there for breakfast.
We were wandering around Jasper trying to figure where to grab a bite and we stopped a local and asked her. She said the Athabasca Hotel had the best breakfast in town, and we have to agree with her!
There was absolutely no waiting to get in (unlike the Alberts/Dennys across the road) and the service was next to none. The waitress understood gluten free, asked the right questions and made some excellent suggestions.
Our breakfast was delicious. I went with the eggs benedict and it was perfect

Considering this is probably the oldest hotel in Jasper, I'm surprised nobody has written a review on it.
I only stayed there for one night recently while passing through on my way to BC. I chose it because it had the cheapest room, $70 + tax at the time. You can tell this is an old hotel since the room I stayed in was small but had a comfortable queen size bed and in room sink. The whole floored shared a bathroom/shower. However, it was very clean.
You can tell these rooms appeal to cheapo's like me, or for younger singles/couples who would spend most of their time out of the hotel
