Acupuncture is a Physiotherapy technique that is used to promote healing, reduce or relieve pain, and improve function of affected areas of the body. In our clinic we use the Western approach (The Anatomical Acupuncture) as well as Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. Used successfully in China for hundreds of years, acupuncture is now being studied by western researchers with considerable success.
Here at Guildwood Physiotherapy we strive to provide our clientele with the very best care in all our departments. Besides Physiotherapy, we also offer Massage Therapy.
Massage Therapy is a very beneficial modality on it's own, when offered in tandem with Physiotherapy, it can reduce recovery time from soft tissue injuries acquired in car accidents, sports injuries, and work related injuries as well as speed up the rehabilitative process when dealing with postural concerns and help decrease pain associated with such conditions.

Cupping has been used all over the world for more then a thousand years. Cupping therapy is based on creating a negative pressure and drawing the body tissues outwards. While it is difficult to design a blind study of the effectiveness of cupping, from what studies have been done, evidence confirms the effectiveness and the safety of the technique.
We are now providing Traction. We have aquired a State of the art, Japanese made, "ITO TM-400" Traction Motor and an Ann Unicare traction table. Have you heard the terms Traction and Decompression therapy used by medical personnel and wondered about the difference between the two?
Physical Therapists and Chiropractors frequency use the terms Decompression therapy and Traction to describe treatments that are utilized for patients suffering with pain and limited function due to lower back and neck conditions. For patients, both the definition and purpose of these terms can be confusing.

A solid foundation with experienced professionals. I have been here for rotator problem, siatic issues, bulging disc, and other troubles. I'm always impressed with her analysis and recovery programs. A huge asset to our community. All the staff are both friendly and we'll informed right down to the receptionist. Great job.
