Services
Lorna Eastman Financial is a fee-for-service financial counselling firm located in Victoria, BC. Lorna has been providing independent, fee-only financial planning services for over 20 years. To provide you with the insight, tools and knowledge you need to optimize your financial plans. We do not represent any financial products nor do we receive commissions based on the placing of financial products of any kind.
Clients bring all of their financial data to an initial consultation. This provides the basis for a current status review. The initial meeting takes from one to one and a half hours and covers a review of financial and investment goals and objectives, and an analysis of how well current strategies are likely to achieve client goals.
The Current Status Assessment includes a review of all financial details. Clients bring a Net Worth Statement, Monthly Cash Flow Summary, Pension Statements, a Notice of Assessment summarizing their income and tax reported, and a copy of a pay slip if they are employed or financial statements for their business if they are self employed, plus any other pertinent data, for example details of inheritances or copies of separation agreements.
We assist clients in clarifying and understanding their current financial status. Clients bring all pertinent information with them to our first meeting so we can get to work right away. There are often no surprises in how things look, clients have a good idea of how they are doing financially, good, bad or scary.
You know you have saved well for your retirement. You may have a pension, RRSP investments, Tax Free Savings Accounts, a pending inheritance. You may own your own company, have a family trust or not. You know you have several "pots" to access in retirement, and yet you don't know how it will look or if you will have enough.

We asked Lorna to help us with our retirement plans, to confirm we were on track. We had done a ton of reading. She gave us some homework to do (figure out how much money we had invested and where, how much money we spent each month, etc) then she had us bring the info to our meeting. She asked us some more questions and took notes. The meeting lasted approximately an hour. She made sure not to give us any advice but she made a couple little slips and told us a few tidbits of useful info. Following the meeting she sent us a summary of what we said. It was riddled with mistakes. She charged us
