Food Time is the best Halal Food Restaurant in Durham region serving Pakistani cuisine and Indian dishes. There is a story behind how food time started as one of the halal restaurants pickering to become the best halal place to eat in Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Durham regions. I came to Canada at the age of 21 and pursued an accounting degree for a career.
We offer free delivery for catering orders of our Silver, Gold & Platinum packages for 50 or more people in Pickering and Ajax only. We will deliver to other areas for a fee, depending on the location. If you have other questions that aren't on the list, please call us, we'll be more than happy to answer them.

Every time we take out Biryani it's different, yesterday we take out chicken biryani and veal biryani, veal biryani's rice were mushy and meat was half cooked, in chicken biryani there is no proper meat. It was just first month when their food was good after couple of months they loose there quality.

Really good food. I've been going here since they opened, as well as the Pickering location. I ordered the BBQ platter for 4 + a chicken qorma. My issue was with the server. I called several times to place an order, no answer. I happened to be in the area and decided to walk in. He was serving a table, I understood the delay. He finally got to me and I ordered, stated that it would be about 30 minutes, fair enough. I came back, food was ready, but he was reluctant to give me raita, stating there was chutney in the salad box. The combo comes with raita. A gentleman before me had two dishes, a quarter

We have ordered from foodtime for ages and their food is good. However this past Sunday Oct 25th we ordered two take out Biryani. The picture will give you an idea what the heck this was and looked like. A Very big let down . Vertually plain rice . There was a family eating in, the places was a mess. Scattered all over wereMoving Boxes and tables looked messy and unclean.
Unless they step up their standards up they will go down hill....sorry you need to know about this.

The food here is honestly underrated and should deserve more recognition for the taste and quality. The food is tasty and affordable. The halwa puri is amazing and the tandoori chicken makes my mouth water. Perfect for a night out or perfect if you have guests over. Moreover the staff is super nice and very helpful if you’re unsure about what you want to order. Food Time is great, I hope they open up in Pickering again, because it is my go to

Loved their Biryani, not too spicy. The curry was okay, the naan wasn't. The pickups are very quick. Will return for Biryani. Absolutely Gorgeous.
Update: Still 4/5. Tried a few of their items which I recommend - their Meat Thali (lunch) is pretty good.
Naans have definitely improved.
Thing to avoid: Chicken Chilli. It was pathetic. Adding the picture to prove it. How is this Chicken Chilli?

I ordered 3 BBQ platters for a birthday party. The food was deliciously amazing and fresh and quantity was more than enough. 1 platter was untouched because Allahumdulliala there was more than enough food. I asked for extra rice and they were very kind enough to alter my order !! highly recommend this place !! it was everything you can ask for in a package without worrying to arrange anything extra on the side. Naans were so soft, I just had some with my morning tea 😋 Thank you for the delicious food and service !

I have always been a big fan of Food Time Pickering and when they had an unfortunate fire at their Pickering location they had to close down for a while. I recently found out that they decided to open up a Whitby location and got instantly excited.
Unfortunately the food just didn't hit the mark for me.
We ordered: 1 Chicken Biryani, 1 Veggie Biryani, 1 Karahi Chicken & a small Raita.
I was honestly expecting the Chicken Biryani to taste the same as I've always remembered it to be but today it just tasted like a mild pulao. The Veggie Biryani was filled

Just called to order and the girl ion the phone was so rude. I tried to order online but it wasn’t working. The lady Kept saying she would call me back and when I asked if I could just place an order she said “when I call you back” I just saved myself $100 Decided to order form another Indian restaurant in Whitby. And I live across the street from here.

The food is fantastic... very authentic Pakistani food. We got the BBQ Platter for 4 which includes the Chicken and the beef kebabs, biriyani rice, yogurt, salad and naan bread. The owner is very nice but the staff need to have proper customer service. Overall great experience and we will surely be back.
