Accent Building Sciences (ABSI) is a Canadian engineering firm with three (3) decades of building science experience with large, complex projects in both the public and private sector. Founded in 1997, our professional team helps property managers and building owners replace or repair building envelope systems (roofs, walls, windows, balconies) before a failure in the system leads to costly repairs.
Your roof should be easy to replace, convenient to install, and must last a long time in a cold climate. There are hundreds of roof systems available; the difference between a good and bad roof is proper design and quality control. Every roof needs to be specifically designed for the location, use and structure of your building.
The objective of any Roof Assessment is to protect the owner's assets and prevent a premature failure of a roof assembly which may cause additional cost of roof repair or replacement and interior damages. The assessment will determine if the roof system is performing per its intended function; identify signs of weakness, deterioration, and hazards; and to categorize needed repairs.
Roof systems can deteriorate from normal wear, severe weather conditions, building movement, improper design, construction, or lack of maintenance. Any roof repairs not dealt with after the first signs of failure can result in increased damage to the roofing system and occasionally the building envelope and interior finishes.
