Midland Child Care Centre

Midland Child Care Centre takes the security and well-being of children in our care very seriously. Our fenced playground features a secure gate, and the doors to our centre are equipped with automatic locks and a security alarm. For emergency preparedness, we practice a fire drill monthly through the year at various times of the day, and document each drill in a log book.

We are a non-profit organization and learning centre offering loving and caring support for children ages 18 months to 4 years old. Our programs are designed to help nurture and develop each child's emotional, social, cognitive, intellectual, creative, and physical skills in a safe, healthy, and happy learning environment.

All of our E.C.E. and E.C.A. staff are experienced child care practitioners. Many of our staff are continuing their professional development by attending off-site workshops and training programs. Their participation in such activities helps ensure that our practices are up-to-date with the most recent recommendations in the child care field.

Trips are made to places of special interest throughout the year. Advance notice is provided prior to each trip which specifies the date, departure and return times, and destination of each special event. Parents are welcome to participate and assist on these excursions. Listed below are some sample destinations:.

Our centre emphasizes that children are active learners and learn best when pursuing personal interest and goals. Our program is based on children interests observed in both structured and unstructured settings. Our teachers follow each child's lead for identifying opportunities to develop enhanced learning activities based on each child's unique interests.
