Dr. Kripps just celebrated his 100th birthday in January. He's tirelessly promoted several things: no sugar, no liquids when you eat, digestion-digestion-digestion, and iodide/thyroid. I have endless respect for Dr. K and Dr. Thorpe. I've been going to Kripps Pharmacy for more than 10 yrs. No issues, no complaints. The body is about chemistry and either Dr. will explain a situation, advise and guide you correctly to your plan/road to recovery. You're really missing a lot of you don't visit them. An unparalleled wealth of knowledge to help you. Please ignore the 4 yr. old comments about unfriendly

Sometimes there's a pharmacist on duty and sometimes there isn't. Sometimes the pharmacist is on time and sometimes, not. Sometimes leaves early or arrives late or the part-time pharmacist is there for a few hours. Etc. Since prescriptions can only be picked up when there's a pharmacist actually present, the erratic hours can lead to major problems, like not being able to get necessary prescriptions before a long weekend and all because the pharmacist left early and won't be back for four days with no emergency phone contact! Too bad because this pharmacy used to be a remarkable

Avoid at all costs. Charged 5 X what a similar pharmacy sold and sent in a form that could not be guaranteed to be stable past 10 days. For a 6 week script! Also unusable as it tasted all of chemicals for a 10 year old boy. When I called I was kind but firm. Pharmacist was belligerent and rude. Telling me he's never had a complaint and using tone in saying I must be "special". Tried to offer 50% refund when receipt stated 20% restocking fee. He finally acquiesced but let me know he was ticked. Oh yeah, no urgency to fill the script in the first place. Took him 3 days just to mix

Fantastic products, great customer service. I was going to leave it at that but it seems Yelp doesn't recommend my review so I'll add more.
The staff (or the big guy named Ed) is knowledgeable more than the typical pharmacy. Its this insight you'll get that makes it a valuable visit. The products are not wrapped in glitzy fancy ribbons, but they're great quality. Health supplements in a pharmacy? There's no one else that offers a comprehensive shopping platform. The one place where product value for dollar is achieved.

The amount of profit that this pharmacy deems appropriate is OUTRAGEOUS. I bought 1000 empty gel capsules there yesterday and they charged me $45....$50 or so including tax. This same amount of empty gel capsules is about TEN dollars on Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/Empty-Gelatin-Capsules-Size-1000/dp/B000ACUJRW
I have to assume that Kripps pharmacy doesn't buy from Amazon though- I'll bet they get their products from a wholesaler that sells capsules for even less
I understand that they have to pay rent and brick and mortar shops have expenses that online businesses don't have

I was not impressed by this place. I was referred here by my naturopath for 1 thing and probably won't be going back. I phoned these guys before traveling from North Vancouver to get to this place in Kerrisdale. The Asian girl who had picked up the phone said they were too busy to answer questions. All I wanted to know was if they had the 1 item I wanted. I ended up going there, and the place was dead as a door nail (no customers). When I asked why I was told it was busy and they couldn't answer 1 question about something being available, I was told that it had suddenly become not busy

Yes Kripps was the Pharmacy with the great sign on Granville street downtown. The Kripps building was torn down and the Pharmacy moved to sleepy Kerrisdale. Before Wholefoods and Choices had huge nutritional products department; there where more places like Kripps. It run by a person who is passionate that you the person can have a role in your own healing.
The difference with Kripp's is they are real Pharmacists proving the service and information. They have lots and lots in-house packaged herbal, nutritional and skin care items. I left the place with some foot cream and some good laughs
