The resort is located on the shores of Beautiful Peninsula (Pen) Lake. Colonial Bay is a small three season cottage resort catering mostly to young families and those who like the slower pace of a Muskoka vacation. With less than 40 people on the property at any one time you can experience your very own corner of Muskoka during your stay.

Accommodations Report

We have accommodations to suit all of your vacation needs - long stays, short visits, small or large groups. Deluxe Rooms include fireplace, one queen size bed, Satellite TV, hair dryer, coffeemaker, fridge, four piece bathroom, electric heat, microwave, kettle, toaster and supply of dishes and cutlery.

During July and August, cottages 1, 2, 3 & 4 book Saturday - Saturday; cottages 5, 6 & 8 book Sunday - Sunday. Thank you for booking your holiday at Colonial Bay. What sets us apart from large hotels and big chains is the personal service you receive from us. We are able to do this because of the size of our resort - just 15 rooms and cottages.

We have a range of things to do and try through Spring to Autum! Come and see how exciting things can be here at Colonial Bay Resort!. With 300' of sand bottom lakefront on clean clear Peninsula Lake, playing at the lake is a summer favorite. Swimming, building Sand Castles, canoeing or relaxing in a Muskoka Chair will ease most into the "summer holiday mode".

This weekend marks the 13th annual Summer Studio Tour. Meet the makers and experience their studios and workshops. You'll find nature-inspired pottery, photography, jewellery, glass, fiber art, sculpture, paintings in many styles and media, and functional art crafted from local wood.

Limberlost Road is close to Algonquin Park in the Huntsville/Lake of Bays area of Muskoka Ontario, and winds through forest, rock and wetlands rich in wildlife and natural beauty.They welcome guests to their studios at other times in addition to our Tour weekend. The cottages though a bit small, it is nice and clean. The service is good and friendly. Guests can enjoy it's private dock with peddle boat and canoe and fishing. The view of the lake at sunset is beautiful.

The scenary was great! Stayed here on a cloudy day, a little disappointed with the weather, but turned out to be good. The lakeside scenary was still picturesque despite the gloomy weather, offering an amazing atmosphere to relax at. Moreover, a great place for a barbeque or picnic.The room was clean and the place is in vicinity to other attractions, being in between Huntsville and Algonquin.

I recently visited this cottage on Sep 2021 Labour Day long weekend. It was an amazing experience. The surroundings are naturally rich and very scenic. The atmosphere is very peaceful and serene. All COVID-19 protocols were followed. The Staff is very friendly and welcoming. All in all, excellent place to stay.

It was a great little get away for the family. The grounds were super clean and the water front was amazing. Free use of all kayaks, paddle boats and canoes are available. The cottage is simple but clean and the beds are very comfortable. The kids and I had an amazing time and the owners are great friendly people. Highly recommend

We rented a 2 bedroom deluxe cottage. All kitchen equipment, linen and towels provided to make for a very comfortable 2 day getaway. Bruce and Nicole are super nice owners and it's always nice when you stay at a place that feels like home. Lots of kayaks and canoe and paddle boats available to use on the beautiful lake. They also provided wood for a campfire and BBQ was also appreciated.

We stayed at a two bedroom cottage and we were very impressed how clean it was. The place was well maintained and very clean. The view by the water was beautiful. You get to see the sunset. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and food storage. Impressively clean linens were provided. Our stay was very comfortable and we had a great time. The hosts were gracious and quick to respond when needed. Hope to visit it again in the near future.
